Im assuming Jones would be ready for Week 1. BUT if Kelley shows well in the last two preseason games would he actually steal the starting RB job away from Jones?
Any experienced back other then Thomas still would not start game one if acquired tomorrow.
Jones getting treatment. Sounds likely he will play first game of the year to me.
Sounds like they plan to give Kelly and Marshall pretty equal reps against the Bills. Don't think they've decided at this point, be fun to see who does better. Hope to see both with the 1's myself.I agree but what if Kelley does well Friday night? Do you play the hot hand or go to the original depth chart?
Yeah, I think they've probably got a player or 2 in mind that they expect will get cut that they'll be ready to pounce on. Otherwise, they'd have signed a veteran. I mean... sure, it doesn't hurt to give Kelly and Marshall a look, but they're huge long-shots, imo. And Jones - even if he fixes his issues - he's never stayed healthy.Neither one of these guys are the answer. Kelly averaged just over 3 yds per carry at Tulane. He was basically a FB. Marshall was third string in college. He is fast but has no cutback ability (or desire). If these guys can't produce in college, its highly doubtful they will become productive in the NFL. I'm not even sure if Jones is the answer. He still runs way to high and he fumbled again last game. Many have often said (including me) that good RBs can be found on the waiver wire. Now is the time to find out. Get them in now so they can learn the playbook before Week 1. Also, keep your eye out for cuts in the last week.
Does anyone have Pierre's number?
Karlos Williams...11 TDs last season. Anybody?
the guy is suspended we would need help earlyKarlos Williams costs nothing though to bring in. Is it possible he learned from his mistake? The man had 11 TDs last season and cut into Shady's PT.
