Pretty good contract for a guy that has never played.....on the other hand, Howard makes that much in one season

It'll be pretty interesting to see how he does. Right now, the Pence deal is looking pretty bad. Cosart has been decent, and if Singleton can produce, then the deal will have been a total steal for the Astros. Sure, we won 102 games in 2011 and Pence played well, but we got bounced in the first round. Right now Singleton has a .941 OPS in AAA with a .402 wOBA.

It doesn't matter though. He's blocked by Howard. He would have to learn how to play the outfield, and with his build, he probably couldn't do that very well.

Hopefully we'll focus on middle infield and good college pitchers, but more likely it will be a corner infielder.

Well, if we get him he'll spend the next seven years in the minors to get that Phillies "training".

Really, I'm not surprised. This guy is going to go on to hit 400 home runs. The best we can hope for is he decides to retire early and only has 398 home runs and he doesn't get much Hall of Fame consideration because of it and every person who ever brings his name up is like "You have to wonder- if he could have just hit two more home runs he might be in Cooperstown by now."

The Phillies also traded Domingo Santana to the Astros in he Hunter Pence deal. He is now 22 years old and is in triple A. He has a high on base percentage and is banging out home runs. The Astros may have some serious power in their future line up. Singleton and Santana could help the Astros big time in their rebuilding process!
