With the recent dust up between the Red Sox and Yankees. Dempster v A-Rod the question arises..... If the two managers were to get into a fight who would win? Farrell or Girardi?

Both managers are big and would put up a good fight but I might give the slight edge to Girardi

So what say you....

And does anyone think they would even fight or just let the players have at it?

Farrell or Girardi?

Humm thats a tough call. Farrell has the size advantage but I think Girardi is borderline lunatic so I guess I am gonna go with Girardi

Tale of the tape

Farrell 6'4 210

Girardi 5'11 195

Course that may have been their playing weight

I thought Girardi was bigger than 195 but I guess not. Though in a fight sometimes the skinnier guy wins

A fine question.

Farrell has the size advantage, but Girardi is a little bit younger. John was a pitcher and Joe, a catcher. Girardi also has the ‘roid rage on top of his lunatic demeanor.

Advantage, JOE.

My dad could beat up your dad.

But if I were to approach this topic seriously, I don't see how the answer isn't Joe. He is in incredible shape. He was a catcher, so he's obviously got a tolerance for pain and is a little crazy (and I say this as a former pitcher). He's obviously got a big temper. He's also probably got some Little Man Syndrome going on. He was the son of a veteran and grew up in a blue collar home (vs. Farrell growing up a surfer in an affluent Jersey Shore town a couple towns over from mine), and probably got his ass whipped on the regular. The only advantage Farrell has is size.

girardi probably. i wish he had stood 4 inches closer to that umpire when he threw his arm... if he made good contact he might have gotten a 50 game suspension

Heh heh heh.... that's a good one! I could see Girardi fighting dirty. He'd probably try to bite Farrell or poke him in the eyes.

If he had to resort to that, I have no doubt he'd punch him in the nuts. Like I said... Little Man Syndrome. Anything to beat the bigger guy.

An Irishman and an Italian.

It would be a hell of a fight, that's for sure.

Farrell's got the reach. He'd bonk Girardi on top of his head like he was in a Bugs Bunny cartoon. :laugh3:

Yeah he does. I still see Girardi coming back with a nasty right hook and knocking Farrell out however.

Two words: Cock Punch

It's already been mentioned that Girardi would likely fight dirty. If Farrell's height and reach advantage looked like a real obstacle, Girardi would go low, literally and figuratively.
