Is his seat warm? hot? Is he getting a pass because management is incompetent? I am so surprised you never hear any rumblings about his job security. Although out here on the West Coast you don't hear much about Yankees, unless you watch the big networks to get a brief highlight, so maybe locally he is under fire?

Just surprised at the lack of Yankee success in recent years. Yes they have one World Series this decade, but its the Yankees...They probably wont even make the playoffs this year.

Not his fault... the Yankees roster simply hasn't been very good since 2012. Sabathia's steep decline hasn't helped, and they haven't exactly replaced Cano's production. Cano had the third most WAR from 2010-13 behind only Votto and Miggy.

Yeah I agree with you it isn't his fault. I mean the guy proved if he has a good roster he can win the World Series...But I am surprised Yankee fans, management, and the local sports heads are understanding of that. Just always thought of NYY to be what have you done for me lately.

If that is the case, and the Yankee fans are understanding of that and see that, then good for them!

As @navamind said the roster hasn't been good since 2012. Not his fault. Management is at fault

Are you surprised Management has actually accepted they are the ones at fault and not trying to pass blame onto Girardi? I don't know as I don't get local NY news, but if management is willing to ride this out then their relationship with Girardi must be great.

Steinbrenner's kids are not going to spend the money. George would spend whatever was necessary to put a WS capable team on the field. His kids are riding the old contracts out and I doubt they go after anymore big contracts.

If George were still alive, they would have paid Cano, brought in a few more high-dolla vets, and THEN if they were still not winning titles, he would probably have fired Girardi already.

Cashman's job has gotten a lot harder without the unlimited funds, but his time there should probably end soon.

The guy is going no where. He's doing a great job. The problem is the team can't develop talent outside of bullpen guys. His ability to use the bullpen properly is the only thing keeping this shit show from being a 90 loss team. I wouldn't be surprised if Adam Warren rebounds.

The Steinbrenner's love him. Plus they're not dumb, the fans like him and if they fired him he'd have a job before he finished cleaning out his office

The only reason the Yanks won in the 90's was that Steinbrenner got thrown out of the sport and they couldn't trade Bernie, Jeter, Mariano, Petitte, Mendoza, Posada etc for washed up losers like eorge did with Fred McGriff, Jose Rijo, Doug Drabek etc in the 90;s

I'm in agreement that the Girardi would make for a really lame scapegoat. It's not his fault he's been given a crappy roster.

lol, ones who know the game, do not understand! we just don't give a shlt when there is so much more here we have to be concerned about, it would help a great deal for a lot here if the yankees were competing, but as you see there really is no interest!... this team died with the Boss... as you said geefarti won with a team that was already put together.. he's done nothing on his own, cause his philosophy is all about resting players instead of winning at all cost, if the Boss was still here reetarti wouldn't be that is fact.

while i agree he would have another job, thats only because he has a ring to his name, and to be honest, good coaches are a rarity in any sport these days

when they win yes! how do i explain this it sounds terrible,, for the most part we buy championships here, very rare that you win here with a team where you watch the kids grow, with the exception of some of the jeter years... so when the team does not compete attention goes elsewhere real quick, just look at the attendance of any game, but again the seats are all bought by corporations, thats another issue... ohh well
