Joe Girardi re-signs with Yankees for 4 more years

Four more years.

That is the agreement reached Wednesday between the New York Yankees and Joe Girardi, a new four-year deal for $16 million, a source told ESPNNewYork.com's Andrew Marchand, that will make Girardi not only the second-highest paid manager in the game, but one of the longest-tenured managers in Yankees history.


Assuming Girardi serves his entire contract, he will have managed the Yankees for 10 years, a term of service exceeded only by Joe McCarthy, Casey Stengel, Miller Huggins and his predecessor, Joe Torre.

I honestly thought he was going to Chicago..I think it would of been better for him they got a young talented team going foward & the yankee's for the next 2-3 year who knows what they will be ? their farm system is not great neither but congrats to Girardi & best of luck

Im happy that he did resign with the Yankees but I would of loved to see him go back home to chicago and rebuild that franchise. imagine if he could of brought the first world series to that team
