Amid multiple reports that Washington is about to sign Scot McCloughin, the question has come up a time or two as to the future of Bruce Allen. Depending on how this plays out.......Allen maintaining final say or giving it up, Allen could very well end up with the most secure job outside of ownership. If he keeps the title of GM and with it final say over player personnel, then with it comes the very real possibility that his dismissal is a season or two away. Giving up that title leaves him with responsibilities such as cap specialist and special events coordinator. Sounds like a demotion? Well, not if consider real short term risks with the former vs. an elongated stint that carries very little risk in the latter.
