Leavitt was practically out the door when he didn't get the HC job. He didn't recruit this year and he had his eyes set on other head coaching positions.

Oregon was already preparing to move on from Leavitt.

Please! You know damn well your in trouble now,
The one and only time this program actually looked like it was going to get a good defense in play and they toss the mastermind to the curb!

Just can't kick that Chip Kelly image down there in EuGene!

Massive predictable LOL at Duck fans trying to comfort food themselves aka lying to themselves and the planet that Leavitt wasn't about the only coach worth a damn at that program and rest are all glorified recruiters. And the massive delusional whoppers being spewed this morning on their message boards and social media that he had nothing to do with recruiting.

Wasn't involved in recruiting and wasn't the primary reason many of your defensive recruits ultimately committed.... GTFO!!!! with that hibitual liar tweaker B.S.

This is a massive blow to the Ducks, especially at defensive performance going forward and their ability to recruit at the level they did recently on that side of the ball. End of story.

time line of Washington fans talking about Oregon
2016 Taggart has a losing record Oregon should be worried this was the best they could do.
Taggart has a winning season at Oregon
2017 Cristobal has a losing record Oregon fans shoud be worried
Cristobal has Oregon looking good to start the season.
Pre Oct 13 2018 Washington is just the better team
Oct 13 2018 Oregon beats Washington
Now Leavitt being let go Oregon fans should be worried about their defense.

@Duckdude73 how do you feel about this?

As a casual observer of Oregon, it sounds like bad news to me...

Disappointed it came to this. When engaged he’s excellent. Getting passed over he never came to terms with despite the $$$. He was not part of recruiting this year and less engaged in the other duties unfortunately. Not sure how his successor will do but he is a great recruiter, and is an up and comer sort of coach. Time will tell.

Oly, you seriously think that?

Not immediately before but yeah some of the Alliotti D’s we’re very good, especially using advanced stats to adjust for pace.

2018 61 391 YPG 27 PPG
2017 42 360 YPG 28.3 PPG
2016, 2015, 2014 Dont need to be discussed. pre Leavitt we all know what a hot mess they were.
2013 44 370 YPG 20.5 PPG
2012 50 374 YPG 21.6 PPG
2011 96 390 YPG 24.6 PPG
2010 36 346 YPG 18.4 PPG
2009 41 335 YPG 23.8 PPG

Last 10 years so yes I believe Oregon did have some better defensive seasons before Leavitt

You still have to play your man crush Chip every year and relive your pain.

Jerry Azzinaro as DL coach made Alliotti. Alliotti was about to be ran out of town until Chip and Azzinaro saved him.

Nobody who follows the program was surprised by this. Everyone knew he wouldn’t be back in 2019, one way or another

If he is getting a buyout I could see him in a consultant/staff role for season.
