Give Seattle fans a break, they have been a after thought for 35 years of NFL football. But not only NFL but all Pro sports.

This was the stupidest comment in this thread and I am pretty sure it wasn't from me.

What has the 2013 49ers done this season... they got demolished in 2 games, they are not playing well and there is no arguing that... so they are a bad team right now... even if they make the playoffs and become a good team you still played a good team playing bad, which is the same thing as a bad team... Until seattle plays a tougher schedule you can not diminsh how the Jets have played by saying that they have an easy schedule... as of now the Jets have played a tougher schedule and it is proven by the 2 more wins that those teams have...

Delusional NY fan who thinks the world revolves around NY. Did you happen to see the GB vs 49er game in week 1? And how many people were picking the 49ers to beat Seattle in week 2? The 49ers came into Seattle on top of the world and the Seahawks kicked their ass back down to Earth...again.

The Jets are improved, but they are not a good team. On the upside, it looks like 8-8 might win the AFC East, so the playoffs are not out of the realm of possiblity.

Delusional Seattle fan...

You are nuts if you think 8-8 would win the AFC East. I pretty much guarantee you that this division has at least 2 teams finish above .500 this season. The Patriots are always a lock to finish above 10-6 and the Dolphins look good so far.

Though the Jets are not the worst team in the league like the experts picked at the beginning of the season they arent this good either. Lets be honest they should have lost against Bucs a cheap penalty gave them the win. The Bills have a terrible defense and even worst secondary. So Geno is going go to be throwing 70 yard bombs on everyone.. Only the Bills are bad enough to let them do that.

And hte bucs got lucky that a WR went uncovered at the end. So did the Patriots last week.

I think the Jets offense is definitely better than last season, like I have been saying. We massively upgraded at OC. Marty Mornhinweg has CONSISTENTLY coached top 10 offenses over his career as a OC. Bad defense or not, this was the first time in Rex's 4 years here that we have had 500+ yards of offense in a game.

Geno Smith makes dumb mistakes, but hes also ultra confident and isn't afraid to make the throws required to make big plays. His arm will allow the Jets WRs to get YAC, something Sanchez held them back from doing.

Our defense is the best its been since 2009. This DL is really really good. And that is no fluke. Sheldon Richardson looks like a future all pro at DT. Muhammad Wilkerson is pretty dominant. Damon Harrison was a huge find and has been great at NT. Our LBs are faster than they have been. David Harris looks so much better than he has the past couple of seasons. DeMario Davis has looked great so far and looks like a improvement over Bart Scott. Another underrated thing is Rex Ryan is back calling the plays on defense, first time since 2009 when we had the #1 defense. They are back to getting after it and besides one fluke run by Fred Jackson (Pace should of had him TFL), they have been dominant against the run and creating pressure. Our run defense wasn't good the past 2 years.

I like how you spun a SB favorite (49ers) that beat the Packers in week 1 into a bad team. They are playing bad now, but you don't think Seattle had anything to do with that? Blowout losses when key players get injured tends to change the effectiveness of said team. We will just have to agree to disagree now and maybe meet up again later in the year to see who was closer to the correct prediction. I'm out.

Meanwhile, ESPN had this to say about the other NY team who just had their worst loss of the "Coughlin" era:

"There are so many places to spread blame when one NFL team loses to another by a score of 38-0. The NFL deck is heavily stacked against such outcomes, and blame for the Giants' embarrassing performance Sunday can be spread evenly. But I'll focus my angst at the team's pass-protection schemes, which allowed six -- yes, SIX!!! -- sacks in the first 17 minutes of "action" against the Panthers. Manning took seven sacks in the game before the Giants mercifully put in backup Curtis Painter . The Giants are now 0-3 for the first time since 1996 and growing less competitive by the week."

My argument isnt that they are not good Im saying they arent 500 offensive yards a game good. The offense is definitely improved and that would happen with Sanchez not being the QB. Also the Jets defense has always been good. But Geno is going to have his way every week like he did and the Jets will still probably have a losing record..... Probably still better then the Bills though.

OK, one more to clarify. You said the Seahawks schedule was easier than the Jets, so we'll see later in the year when we really find out who had the tougher schedule. If spinning your way into making the Jets schedule look better than it is means I am a fool, than so be it, I can live with that.

But that is irrelevant to what i am calling you out on... I am calling you out on as a Seahawks fan, diminishing what the Jets have done solely because they have had a bad schedule so far(that was your comment). The seahawks have played at best an equally bad schedule... None of us Jet fans believe that we are going to be a playoff team, and none of us think that we are better than the seahawks(not even close)... But dont come into a thread diminishing a team using a fact where your team is not much better in... It is like me going into a 49ers thread and saying that they suck because they have been playing very sloppy this season, it might be true, but it is the same for my team...

Or how every Seahawk fan thinks they are going to win the SB this year because they are 3-0 but Jets are terrible for being 2-1 against harder teams.

Breaking News..

The refs just threw another flag on the Jets....
15 yd penalty...for exceeding everyone's expectations to this point...
Replay 2nd down.

On the next play 80 TD pass with a behind the back throw by Geno. Bills secondary is just that awful.

That was an ugly game for sure. Obviously it's only 2 wins but the Jets have already looked better than just about everyone gave them credit for. I for one knew they would catch teams off guard. Everyone seemed to pick the Bucs over them which is a joke because who the hell are the Bucs? It's a slapdick team with a mediocre QB and a shitty head coach. To only lose by 3 points, in primetime, against the Patriots was probably more than most fans could have hoped for going into the season and they were able to hang on and take out a division opponent.

They won't compete for the playoffs but I don't think it's unreasonable to think they'll wind up .500.

CBS Sports:

"Does 2-1 mean Rex Ryan is going to start getting his swagger back? I hope so. They were penalty-heavy on Sunday but the Jets defense is for real, especially up front. Don't rush back, Mark Sanchez. Geno Smith 's got this. Getting Santonio Holmes back helps. "

The Jets D is very legit. Big Mo, Richardson, Coples and a solid, solid secondary, there is some talent there for sure. It's enough to keep them in games. Powell has done a decent enough job in the running game and Geno may not be a top tier QB but he does provide energy and get extend plays. There is enough there to make me think they could make it work.

Getting Holmes back is an underrated big move as he's probably one of the better receivers in the league. Stephen Hill has progressed, Kellen Winslow is a nice safety valve. Again, they're not great but they can be competitive.

Meanwhile, CBS Sports said this about the other NY team:

"People are calling for Tom Coughlin's seat to heat up after this debacle got New York to 0-3. Eli Manning turned the ball over (again), David Wilson didn't run well (again) and the defense was a sieve (again). Newspaper-watching should be fun on Monday morning."

ESPN:

"Broadway Geno : ... He became the first rookie in Jets history to pass for 300 yards and two touchdowns in a game. Not even Joe Namath did that in 1965, when the AFL was a wide-open passing league. In some ways, Smith's performance was Namath-esque, because he threw a couple of interceptions (that makes a total of six). But he also demonstrated the ability to attack downfield, as the Jets unleashed a seldom-seen vertical passing game. Smith averaged 11.4 yards per attempt. You can win a lot of football games with that number. He made a big play in crunch time, the 69-yard touchdown strike to Santonio Holmes."
