I'm done with Demarco Murray, the guy can't stay healthy and we don't have another rb on the roster that can get you those tough yards to close out a game like today.

OK,

Question 1. What RB does he trade for?
Question 2. What/Who does he trade away?
Question 3. What affect does this have on our already hurting salary cap?

This will sound like I'm being a dick, but the NFL is not Madden.

Ol has been good this year. The rumor mill have us showing intrest in both AP on offense and Von Miller on D. Don't see how we could sign either guy. Although AP is much better give me Miller because he'd come at a way cheaper price thin again can he play in this defense.

dont think its the back

Kinda yes, kinda no. Murray legitimately has health issues. With that said, it is true that the O-line does not consistently run block well. What's maddening is that they show glimpses of it, but Dallas either gets away from it, or gets away from what's working that day.

I don't see a new RB coming in. Dallas has too many holes to be tossing away draft picks as if they're an RB away from a Super Bowl run.

Murray being out hurt and also proved how good he is. Since he went out 2 1/2 games ago Romo has had happy feet and has been very inaccurate. Coincidence?

I like the rookie, I think he will get better with time and confidence and a stronger line. Line is serviceable, not dominant.

And there is no room that I know of to get help anywhere.

Randle will fill in just fine. Not even AP would have rushed for anything today with how the OL played. Yes, "Glass" Murray needs to be traded immediately. Get a CB for him. When Dallas drafted Murray, I immediately predicted he would be too hurt to ever play and contribute. Murray was injury prone at OU.

This is what too many fans can't understand. Maybe we can turn off the GM portion of the NFL just like on Madden.

Jarntt is right- the offense is nowhere near the same w/o Murray . It is wierd that JJ said he thought he could have played though.

They could go after MJD is a proven back that is reported to be available. Another guy they might be able to grab fairly cheap would be Toby G. From Minn. if I was Dallas I would be trying to find exactly how much I could cash out in terms of Dez. I would be shopping him to teams and getting what I could before all value is gone.

Randle is slow and is obviously not a feature back.

Book is stilll out on the kid, but I haven't seen anything that makes me think he could be a good player in this league. Knowing how little he has played and how young he is, that doesn't mean I am right of course. I think he could be a good backup and spot starter in the future, I just don't think he is right now. I have to assume Dunbar is still hurting, because I don't get why you give so many more touches to Randle than him. I know Dunbar can't carry the mail, but he is a better player right now if healthy IMO.

Dump Dez on Minn. for Toby and picks. Seems like that would kill a bunch of birds with one stone.

Yes, that would kill a bunch of birds with one stone, with two of those birds being any chance of us making the playoffs this year or next.

Couldn't you at least have come up with something better than Toby Gerhardt?

Toby is a back that is big and physical. Solid in pass protection good hands and a high character individual. He is also coming up for a contract and possible he could be signed on the cheap with really no mileage since Stanford. That said I also stated and picks, that being plural meaning more than one. And talk of playoffs for Dallas is comical even with Dez be it this year or next. Again teams that are good and consistently good build with character and through the draft. Dallas just hasn't done that, time to change is now. Not after another 9-7 season and one and done.

Another note on Toby. You seem to write him off because he doesn't start or something. Fact is not many backs if any are going to start over Peterson. But remember when Peterson was hurt Toby filled in nicely and had a higher average than Peterson in those starts.

No, I write him off because he is not any good. Don't play the AP card as if that has anything to do with it and he has started enough games to prove he's not a starter.

Why is a Steeler fan here and why am I talking to him? I guess you officially wrote off the season yesterday, huh?

Oh, and I saw litle Steelgirl pop in here also before yesterdays loss to the Raiders. That one had to sting. Last place and behind CLEVELAND??? I don't blame you for coming on and thinking of other teams I guess.

Ok if you say so. Has averaged over 4 yards per carry over his career. Also in 2011 the year AP got hurt he averaged 4.9 per carry in those starts. He also averages around 8 per reception which isn't bad for a back. But again point here is picks and value. Combine that with unloading a head case. Toby may end up being just average which is better than what Dallas has now. He may end up being a legit freaking stud. Who knows? I know this teams don't win championships with WRs who act like Dez, no matter how talented they are. So again why keep him? Get something now before he wants a large deal and move on.

You guys haven't been in the playoff hunt the last 4 or 5 years? Do you even watch football? Last year Dallas Redskins game remember that? Win and your in! I think that qualifies as in the hunt, and they have been that way for a while now.

Yawn......it's gotta suck to know a fan of another team knows more about your team than you do. But can I say? You had no idea the Cowboys have been in the playoff hunt the last 4 or 5 years and just unable to get over that hump.:laugh3:

Unloading talent doesn't seem like a smart way to win anything. Many called Michael Irvin a head case. Shannon Sharpe was called a head case. LT on defense, but was there a bigger head case ever? Moss may not have won a SB win NE, but he made them an incredible Offense even after his prime. And last but not least, didn't Santonio Holmes win a SB MVP for YOUR TEAM!!!

In his 5 starts that season he was 83 - 401 yards - 4.83 ave, that doesnt say terrible. At none of the above mentioned were anything close to Dez. In terms of Holmes he wasn't a head case until he was shipped off. He couldn't maintain self control in term of weed. We also had a minimal head case in Wallace and he was shipped off pretty quick as well.

I didn't back track on anything. The boys are where they have been for the last 4 or 5 years. I don't need to open a paper to know 9-7 or 8-8 is where they finish. If thats good enough for a playoff spot so be it. One and done never gets old watching.:agree:

"In right now" meant in the playoffs, not in the playoff picture. And go back and check your Dallas history, because we sure weren't even in a playoff race one of those years.

And Holmes was a head case which is part of the reason he was shipped off, and so was Wallace (minimal or otherwise) means you had two on your own team...

Did you just agree with your own post? How many personalities do you have in that little brain of yours?

Why don't you take your plans and skip back over to the Pittsburgh board and talk about NO playoffs.

Um nobody is "in right now" so who is back tracking here? The Boys as I noted are where they have been the last 4 or 5 years or so. And again how has that worked out for you? And yes the Steelers have had their share of head cases most every team does. Difference they don't make excuses for these guys they just move them.

Point 1: Please tell me you aren't this dumb...If the season ended today since the Cowboys are currently in first place, they would be in the place AS OF TODAY. Nowhere did I say they would make the playoffs. I was responding to someone who said we didn't even have a chance. If you can't follow that, go buy a newspaper and a friend and ask them to explain it to you. I must have made a mistake to assume someone on a sports chat board would get sports lingo that has been around for as long as I can remember.

Point 2: Yes. Nowhere did I say anything different about most tea mhaving head cases and nowhere did I even discuss whether or not teams keep or get rid of them as a general rule (although we did unload TO). You said no team won a SB with WRs that acted like that and used that for your justification that Dallas COULD NOT win a SB with Dez. All I did was use your own team to prove you wrong. I think we'd call that irony around here...Good day, gotta go

As to point #1. Nobody said anything about the season ending today that was you on the back track. You responded to my statement that thinking the Cowboys are a playoff team be it this year or next is comical. Why because they have been in this position the last 4-5 years. Please try and follow along. Which is why shopping Dez might be a good idea now.

Point #2. S. Holmes at no point in his career as a Steelers act that way on the field. That didn't happen until he was a Jet. He had off the field issues which cost him his job in Pitt. So they shipped him for a 5th and moved on. :suds:

Here you go and I'll say it again. You said. the bolded above, I said the below. Check the friggin paper if they stilll have papers in Pittsburgh, because as of right now we are in. Actually, I'll make it even easier for you. We are in the playoffs as of right now:

Bull shit on Holmes. he was a problem that is why you got rid of him and you eve nsaid Wallace yourself, so stop lying. No one put in the qualifier about on the field. You backtrack like no one I've ever seen.

Really Dallas is in the playoffs right now? I haven't heard that. Nice you guys must have got the bye as well good job. Now back to reality look at page two its pretty clear what was said and you are back tracking, or at least trying to change the context of statements. I never said Holmes wasn't a problem did I? No I said he couldn't stay away from weed and off the field issues so we let him go. He didn't however pull the crap on the field that he has with the Jets while with the Steelers. Same with Wallace and that's why they are both gone. Why keep players like that?

I know what I said. Dallas isn't making the dance this year and if they do it's one and done. They have been in this position the last 4-5 years. How has that worked out for you? Now you can pretend the season ends today and playoffs start tomorrow all you want, I don't play that game. We have seen this act for to long to think anything has changed. It's not back tracking its stating fact.
