We'll get an easy contract extension with him now that he has a record..... This bust just saved Mikey a lot of money.

If he were caught with a couple ounces in his car I'd completely agree that Brown's happy to sign him on the cheap..

10 lbs of Pot with materials to distribute in the home he owns...

he's going to jail

If we lose tomorrow, we won't win more than 3 games all year.

There is a classic Marvin quote in the Dayton paper today. He says "there hasn't been a non-profit, a school visit, a visit to hospital that Jerome Simpson hasn't been involved in". Of course he has-how else is he going to unload all that dope?

He might go to jail - He might not..... Given that, for now, they only have drugs at his house without proof of distribution, it might be difficult for the prosecution. He might cop a plea and turn on someone to get a reduced sentence.

It's a federal investigation. They'll use him to catch the bigger fish. He'll get off easy. But that doesn't mean the NFL will let him off very easy. This will become some ugly publicity.

I agree.... I imagine that his actual sentence will be light - As you said, in a federal investigation they are always after the next guy up the ladder. Goodel will definitely have his say though. That said, Simpson hasn't had any criminal charges in the past and while his game still hasn't graduated from 'raw potential,' I'm starting to think the kid could play in the pros if he could just get a little more experience. But, his brain has held him back thus far, and it certainly doesn't seem like that is going to change anytime soon.

Yeah, he's obviously an idiot. I agree that he won't get jail time. That has nothing to do with a possible NFL suspension though.

He will get jail time. I'm not sure how anyone thinks otherwise. Plea or no plea.

He's going to jail where he belongs. He'll never play in the league again. Good riddance.

No chance he goes to jail for more than a month.

I don't much about these sort of cases. I've yet to even watch an episode of Law and Order...

but interstate drug trafficking with material found in his home to distribute. if he's involved he's going to prison (thanks RTR : ) ) for a long time..

a plea deal (where he names names) would cut the sentence, not eliminate it altogether

The problem is there is no proof he is distributing. Baggies and scales don't mean he is. It's circumstantial. Plus he didn't sign for it and he let the cops search his home. IF he is involved and knows what's going on he will testify against someone and get a plea for probably 0 time. He might get like 30 days just so it looks like they did something to him. If a man can drive drunk and kill someone and only get 30 days of jail then Simpson can get 30 days or less for this too.
