The guy is putting together his best season ever as a minor leaguer in Indy. He has also bee on a tear of late. He deserves one more shot at the major league level, and there-in lies the problem. We really don't have a spot for him. McGehee is playing well, and so is Jones, and that is our platoon at 1B. We also have the problem that he isn't on the 40 man roster, so for us to give him a shot, we would need to clear a spot on the 40 and 25 man rosters.
I am not, however, saying we need to bring him up, but we need to find a place for him to get a shot. I personally think he could be every bit as good as James Loney, and possibly better. He seems to be healthy, and have not heard a negative about his defense at first base this year.
I just think there is a place on a major league team that he could get a shot somewhere and NH should let him go get one more shot. I would not expect nor would I want a lot in return, just a chance to do right by a guy that has worked his butt off for us and IMO deserves a chance to see if he can play at the major league level.
