I am surprised that SAG has allowed the new one (Tori from Cobra Kai) to use the name.

I have no idea what the legalities are for using your real, legal name, but an actor’s name has a lot to do with their brand.

Michael B. Jordan uses the “B.” just to be safe (I would assume, I actually haven’t read anything on his DBA decision).

Michael C. Hall (Dexter), I assume, uses the “C.“ to differentiate from Anthony Michael Hall (though it could also just be because Michael Hall is simply too common).

David H. Lawrence XVII uses the “XVII” because that is his designation either with SAG or IMDB, and he thought it looked cool so he adopted it into his professional nom de plum.

Apparently, there are strict rules in place with SAG about two actors using the same name. The problem is that the older actress is registered as “Peyton Elizabeth List”, but works as ”Peyton List”. The younger actress is actually registered as “Peyton List”. Both use their real, legal, birth names.

Technically, I would guess, the older actress would have to change her DBA if a fight were ever to arise since the younger one “owns” the name “Peyton List” as far as SAG is concerned.

Yeah, it's a weird situation that can definitely be confusing:

- The older one is SAG-registered as "Peyton Elizabeth List" but usually officially credited (in film/TV credits) as simply "Peyton List."

- The younger one is SAG-registered as "Peyton List" but usually officially credited as "Peyton R. List" or "Peyton Roi List."

They seem to be okay with that accomodation since they appeared in As the World Turns and Batman: Hush together.
