The panic was that the Lakers had lost 4 games in a row in the playoffs, then another 12 games straight in the pre-season and then 5 games straight in the regular season. That is 21 straight games with the same coach and not even close to winning even one game. You don't think that was atleast a red flag?

I'm not saying Brown belongs in the H.O.F., but he must have something going on. He keeps finding a job that only 30 men in the world have.

Anyway, as far as your stats. Let's break them down.

The Lakers did lose 4 in a row in the playoffs (to eventual WC champs Ok City), but it was after winning a series vs Denver. That equates to the best the Lakers have done in the last 3 seasons.

Preseason? Who cares? Meaningless.

Also, the Lakers started 1-4, not 0-5.
The losses were @ Portland and@ Utah. Really no surprises there.
They lost at home to the Clippers. Again, no surprise as they got hammered every game all year by them.
They lost the opener to Dallas-Dirk, but it was a game that could have went either way until the final minute or 2 if I recall. It was an upset, but certainly not a major one.

The other game, they beat Detroit by 29. Brown coached that game, correct?

Seems to me like they buried a bad team and lost road games and a couple home games and it was just magnified because it was at the start of the season.

Yes, if Mike Brown had been given more time we'd have Phil and Dwight right now.

Turnip - Don't forget you are only as good as your last victory. The fact is that Mike Brown shut down winning for 21 games straight. Put whatever excuse or spin you want to, and I get it that Miami fans would like to see the Lakers keep a fucked up coach to make it easier for them, but no coach is going to last in any sport with that kind of a record - even if half of them don't count.

I guess the Detroit 29 point victory doesn't count?

I guess Laker fans who just a few years ago felt the regular season was unimportant not feel preseason is?

I guess the fact that they won a playoff series vs Denver means nothing?

I suppose you feel the Lakers should have beat Ok City?

It has NOTHING to do with the Heat. Are you implying that the Lakers are now or were in any position to make the Finals? That is HILARIOUS. If you can't make the Finals, and you are and were a long, long, long, ways away from it the last 3 years, please don't make a fool out of yourself and imply that you are on the Heats or Heats fans radar.

Lastly, Brown is and was a better choice then D'Antoni.

No defense equates to some fun regular season games and then the eventual stomping in the playoffs that those types of teams always receive.

What I am saying moron is that any time a team in any sport loses 21 games straight - some one is going to get fired or traded. That's just the way it is in major league sports. To lose four games straight in Oklahoma is one thing - I think the management knew that, but then every single game in the preseason and then they continued the trend. Had they even won one or two in the regular season I don't think they would have fired him. Naturally you trolls want to argue that the Lakers should have kept Mike Brown - that was better for everyone else.

And no the wins against Denver didnt mean anything because there was a complete collapse with 21 losses in a row. There was every indication that the players didn't even care and the fact is that even without a head coach, the Lakers started winning and beating good teams. When they had lost every single game. So the Lakers called up Mike Brown and said sorry bitch, you're gone

I'm the moron, but you are the one who continues to say the Lakers were 0-5?

"Had they even won one or two in the regular season I don't think they would have fired him"

Seriously , could you be any fucking dumber? He did win one, and came very close to 2. The other teams were just BETTER.

Watch how your season begins this year. It ill be an instant replay. Then what?

So, keep being a fucking idiot, keep being wrong, keep thinking Heat fans worry about a team now projected to be a 12 seed, keep using the word troll where it doesn't belong!!

Why not throw in a couple " bandwagons" so you can be on par with the other mostly Laker moron fans here?

The Lakers were 0-5 at the begiining of the regular season, they lost the first five games of the regular season in addition to all of the preseason games - see how long Spoelstra lasts if that ever happens. I would be willing to bet, however that an unproven coach who has never won a championship like Brown, however gets put on a shorter leach.

Besides that Miami Fans are just pissed because the Lakers got rid of a coach that was full of crap.

Please stop making a complete fool out of your self.

The Lakers started 1-4, not 0-5.
The next 2 games after Brown was fired were against 2 horrible teams at home.
Had Brown not have been fired, he would have been 3-4 at that point.

Like I said in my original post, if Kobe wasn't behind the firing or if PJ wasn't coming back, there was no reason to panic AT THAT POINT.

I dn't blame the Lakers for firing Brown. Our plan was to win it all last year so when we weren't playing up to potential, Brown got singled out. You add in the injuries (Kobe, Dwight and Ron playing through injury, Nash, etc), it appeared obvious the Lakers problems were a lot deeper than the head coach. Dwight thought he was going to get an easy title and when things didn't turn out the way we planned he bolted.

Obviously if we knew then what we know now, we'd let Brown ride the bench for a while in cruise control until Phil felt ready to take over. It was win now and ownership figured we'd start winning now if we changed the head coach.

Maybe Jeanie could have stopped it but in her recent interview, she was speaking as if she was just barely getting back to work. I'm sure the man we so affectionately call "Short Buss" was also in the process of grieving for his father and was probably grasping for straws trying to keep the Lakers a winning organization. Lots of turmoil.

They obviously did the right thing - the fact is that 1-20 or 0-21 is very little difference. So I forgot one win, but the fact is that the Lakers management saw a huge problem. The problem is Mike Brown was not a good coach and needed to be fired. The Miami bitches are just pissed because they are afraid the Lakers will be a better team and they would have if they had hired Phil Jackson.

You can't prove the Lakers would have went 3-4 with more wins though and the fact is the Lakers had lost 20 or 21 games straight. No one keeps their job with that kind of failure - they just don't

What I can prove is that in post #47, you said that had he have won one or two games that he probably wouldn't have been fired.

Once proven wrong, I guess that mindset went out the window?

You are sadly now if full blown CL mode.

Is it that hard to just say you wrong vs coming up with bullshit nonsense that Heat fans want you to have a bad coach? I personally today, and since the day he was hired felt that D'antoni was a horrible choice for the Lakers. Therefore, even your incorrect logic, is still wrong.

You Miami Weenies might as well admit the truth - You wanted the Lakers to keep a coach that couldn't win for the benefit of your own team. D'antoni by himself can't either, but he has Kobe and Nash to teach him and that gives him an edge because Mike Brown was unteachable and he didn't handle Gasol or Howard well

One win changes nothing - the front office was convinced by those 20 straight losses and they saw a bad pattern after a complete failure the prior season. They was not prepared to take a chance with a loser and decided to make a change.

The only thing you have proven is that the Lakers made the right choice because any time the enemy is bitching, then they did something right. The enemy does not bitch and whine over failure of their opponents, so keep on bitching and keep on whining - mabe some one will get you some cheese to go with your whine:laugh3:

Of course you want the Lakers to have a bad coach, just Like I hope the Miami bitches has a bad season. Thats the natural order of things - Don't take it so personal. I think if the Lakers had went 3-2, Mike Brown would have had a shot, but it wasn't the losses as much as the signals the players were giving on the court. They were clearly confused when they shouldn't have been and they clearly were not playing for their coach and they clearly did not believe in Brown. That much was commented on several times.

Like I said keep on bitching and keep on whining - it will give me hope for the Lakers baby:yahoo:
