It also sounds like he's not going to assemble his own staff.

Anyone want to guess how long he'll last? I'm going with 2 years.

Until Dan Snyder realizes he's not a coach and not a GM it will not matter who is on the sidelines or on the field for the Redskins.

One thing I am happy about, the Skins interviewed Panthers Defensive Coordinator Sean McDermott. Looks like we get to keep him for another year. :)

Honestly I can't see why any coach would want the Redskins job. That owner is just a dbag.

At least McDaniels was smart enough to avoid Cleveland, knowing that 2 disastrous runs as head coach would likely prevent him from getting a 3rd chance.

:agree: And with everything coming out about how RGIII won't do what the coaches are asking him to do, then the whole RGII stuff. It just doesn't sound like a good situation for anyone. All I can say is good luck, he is going to need it.

Sounds like a decent choice at head coach to me, but I don't watch the Bengals a lot, so I guess there's only so much I can say about this move.

Win-win for a 1st time job.

Win there, and you are set.

Lose there, and you can blame the dysfunction and lack of control.

On one hand.... there are only 32 Head coaching gigs available.....but on the other hand your right the skins job is by far the worst (besides Cle) in the league.....

Good luck to him.

Wonder if Snyder realizes he hired Jay not John?

I liken the bengals situation alot to the Seahawks....Why people are interviewing (and in this case hiring) the Offensive coordinator and NOT the Defensive coordinator is funny. Both squads are built and win because of their D...

huh? who is picking his staff?

that is a disaster waiting to happen if the h.c. doesn't get to choose his coaches.

I find it strange that it was just "released" about Gruden being the main culprit behind drafting Dalton over Kaepernick. Quoting him saying, "Dalton fits his scheme more.." or something like that... now he goes to DC to coach RG3?

It's all pretty strange to me, but being a Bills fan, I can't say much.

RG3 is the single only reason to consider DC. Even if he didn't like Shanahan, which seemed significantly over-stated, Shanahan is a joke. There isn't a player in the league who should respect him.

Unfortunately Snyder and the terrible GM job Shanahan did cancel that out significantly.

There's a rumor they'll promote guys from within to be the new OC and DC. I guess we'll know soon enough if its true.

Judging by his presser, we are in for some interesting interviews. If things dont go well quick, Washington media is gunna eat him up.
