On board with this. Facts are facts, Dalton is NOT a very good quarterback and Gruden was able to get a lot out of him. Very excited to see what his offense can do with RG3 running it. Gruden's offense relies on packaged plays, 1-3 step drops, outside zone and spread. That's a dream come true offense (to me) for someone like RG3 to run and it doesn't rely solely on his legs.

Great News!!!! I got the coach I wnted...so I guess that means I can't ever complain about him!!! I believe he took an average at best QB and was able to get his team into the playoffs 3 strait years....Yes I know defense helped, but he did have a very potent offense.....

i believe he was the best HC candidate out there, and we got him!!!

I can't tell you how many times I heard this sentiment over the last 15 years of off seasons. For this reason, I'm going to temper my glee until I see him actually work.

One mans treasure

Having faced the Bengals twice a year...Idk if it was all Dalton...at times he could look like an all pro...other times Akili Smith looked better...A lot of that is on Dalton, but I would think a fair amount of Bengal fans are happy to see Gruden gone.

RG3 is better than Dalton...but I hope he doesn't have him running the read option.

Good luck with your new HC guys!

I am pretty sure that Gruden is adaptable & will do what is right with the current mix. You would think that this would include mixing it up & using all type of formations to take advantage of RG3's skills, confuse the defense & also protect the QB. We will see.

Yep, you would think...Gruden had this read option package with Dalton...I'm not saying they ran it 20 times a game or anything, but I can see him being tempted to expand on that with a talent like RG3...vs focusing on developing RG3 more as read and pass QB and use your legs when you need to.

Wish him well.

I think I'll take the wait and see approach.
Allen seems content with Hasslett as DC it seems, guess we'll see.

Really??? got that sentiment with Spurrier?? Doubtful.....GIbbs, im sure you did and even though some may consider Gibbs 2 a failure, he did take some pretty bad teams to the playoffs 2 out of 4 years
Zorn...No way that was uttered.....Shannahan, may have been said they wanted him by some .....I know I dont speak fro everyone...BUT I WAS PISSED when we got him!!! I thought Shannahan was overated, and I was right.......

well the presser is at 4 pm eastern so perhaps we can gather some information then.

right now , if you ask me they hired one of the best candidates out there as far as NFL assistants go

whether that works or not remains to be seen .

it can work if gruden , allen brown ,and campbell (smith?) all have input in player moves and that it is respected

if it is a snyder thru allen mouth piece job then it wont

so far i like what is being done with the exception of haslett but hey you cant have everything . i understand it i guess but i dont like it :suds:

People were going rabid about spurrier. He was the "IT" coach. Same with Shanahan. But my comment was not just about coaches, but also the next hot FA or draft pick. My point being is it seems for the last 15 years, we always have a signing of some sort that will solve our problems. Yet is never seems to happen. So I have learned to temper my enthusiasm for off season moves.

I really love this hire in 3 seasons as the Bengals OC he helped get them to 3 straight playoffs he was a head coach in the arena league and he can always seek advice from his brother

I can live with this. As others have said, Im taking a wait and see approach but I think this has potential. Wouldve liked to have seen Raheem at DC however.
