The Flames, given their rebuilding state, should be looking for people with a strong background in scouting. Talent Evaluators.

Columbus got it right, IMO, by hiring Jarmo.

The Flames should poach the director of scouting, for example, from a team with a strong draft record.

Tod Button must have incriminating pictures of Murray Edwards, somehow this guy continues to survive.

A lot of people also pointing to the Jankowski draft pick as a big Feaster/Weisbrod mistake. Could have selected Olli Maatta who by all accounts is playing very well with the Penguins.

No, I didn't, just reading some stuff on-line from people who did.

its on TSN. watch it its 22 mins. hes full of crap on a lot of things. I think Feaster got screwed here. the main reason he pointed to was not being able to hold a lead. isnt that coaching? how is that the GM? Im confused as to why he made this move now.

I know it's easy to say they could have taken Olli Maatta but he's also in a better position in Pittsburgh to succeed - I actually like the picks they made, especially the college guys - like Johnny Gaudreau and Mark Jankowski - they have a high ceiling and if they're patient those guys can be really, really good for them - but I think overall it was the right decision to let Jay Feaster go

You have two goalies (one who's never played in the NHL before and the other who last played in the NHL four years ago) and a defense where guys like Shane O'Brien and Chris Butler are in your top 6? I'm actually surprised that the Flames are as competitive as they are (they are a hard working team).

Tod Button must have incriminating pictures of Murray Edwards, somehow this guy continues to survive.

I was thinking of making an experienced head scout the new GM of the Flames. Pierre Dorion in Ottawa has been a really good evaluator of young talent during his time as director of player personnel.

I hope he's not on the Flames radar but he'd be a good choice. IMO he'd be a better choice than Sens assistant GM Tim Murray who has been/is being considered for the Sabres GM spot.

No, I think they are committed to a rebuild, for whatever reasons Burke didn't think Feaster and Weisbrod were the right guys to conduct the rebuild. I think a young rebuilding team with questions in goal and defense are prone to blowing third period leads, though.
