The 76ers are waiving him and he'll be free to sign with a playoff team. A legit 7-footer is going to be in hot demand. Where does he end up and will he be a game-changer for someone?
The Warriors and Rockets could use him as insurance for their gimpy Centers.
If he or Whiteside could play pf, the Heat.
If he wants to become a legit NBA player and stop behaving like a buffoon, the Spurs.
It all depends on his priorities.
He didn't give up any money so....
If he wants a shot at a ring, while playing limited minutes:
1. Cavs
2. Warriors
3. Griz
4. Spurs

1. Rockets
2. Raptors
3. Heat

The Cavs should have waited on picking up Perk.
Curious what you mean by that. I know that he sometimes plays like a buffoon, but I am unaware of him otherwise behaving badly.
Agreed.
Perhaps they didn't want to risk missing out on another big.
Not sure why they felt Perk would help.
Maybe they just wanted a goon.
I'm pretty sure nobody thought this Shaqtin a fool Allstar was gonna be on the market.
Wouldn't be a big shock if the Cavs signed him too.
Yeah McGee is a clown. Doesn't take the game seriously at all.
I wouldn't want him anywhere near my team.
the Cavs are not going to add McGee...its hard enough to get a guy acclimated to teh team at this time of the year as it is---say what you want about Perk- but he is an actual pro and has his head on straight and has a ton of playoff experience- hes the type of guy that could come in FAIRLY quickly- now will it take probably a month before he is reaally ready to go? yah probably- but you might not be able to get ole JaVale to figure out his role if you had YEARS - let alone just a couple months....
The guy has mental problems.....
Seriously, google " Javelle McGee is a Clown" and you will see for yourself.
Is McGee mad? He actually enjoys the joy ride that is ADD, now referred to as ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder), which leads to inattentiveness, over-activity and impulsivity, often in unhealthy doses.
It's bizarre, yes, but that makes him bizarre. And in a league where personas are rehearsed and behavior is choreographed, McGee is resplendently refreshing. He knows he can take the medicine. But what's the fun in being like everyone else?
Or, as teammate Kenneth Faried put it, upon hearing McGee describe his medical condition from across the locker room, "I didn't know you had ADD. I knew something was wrong with you, but I didn't know it was that."

Not a playoff team, but I want the Lakers to get him. He and Swaggy P would be comedy gold. Might as well get a few laughs over the next 20+ games.![]()
