Yep, his RF D is solid and GG worthy for those 2 plays a game. But the Scrubbies need OF D and not offensive production. His OBP will play well in that lineup[

Good pickup for the Cubs.

Have the Cubs revamped their bullpen yet? If they do, they are going to be very dangerous. That lineup, the starting pitching...all they need is to shorten the game at the end.

Great defense, not so good offense so far. He's young enough to where it could improve, and in the Cubs very young and talented lineup he won't be asked to do a lot which should help. Good pickup, Cubs look like legit WS contenders in 2016.

They got a pitcher in the Castro trade, who will probably come out of the BP. Also brought back Cahill who had some success with the Cubs. Could use another arm or two back there.

Agreed. Cahill is a long-man or spot starter. I wonder if the Reds would deal Chapman in division (once the smoke clears from his alleged choke/shooting incident)?

Heyward's offense is interesting because he's shown very good/great aspects of his game in different seasons, but never really put it all together in a single season....

I mean, he's had a year with a near .400 OBP, a year with 27 HR, several years with 20+ steals at a high rate, a year hitting .290+....so we've seen at some point that he is capable of doing very well in every aspect of the game based on his performance, but it all hasn't come together for a single season.

Oh I forgot, his defense is amazing

And he has a career .353 OBP and 114 OPS+. His bat isn't great by any means, but he's not exactly Mark Belanger.

There's potential there that's for sure.

Heyward has the 3rd best UZR/150 among outfielders since 2010, and the two guys ahead of him (Inciarte/Lagares) have fewer than half as many innings played as Heyward.

That'd be a big pickup, and the Cubs still have some pieces they can move including Baez. They might still look to get one of those RP's from the Rays(Boxberger or McGee) or try and get one of the remaining RP's in free agency(I believe Clippard is still out there). I could also see Warren getting that long-man spot starter role because he started some games for the Yanks, and Cahill being the 7th inning guy.
