Alex was disappointing, Kirk has been disappointing. Colt was disappointing in the Dallas game and then proceeded to get hurt in his second game. At least we were winning with Alex.

I agree that brand of football is not sustainable, but 1st place is 1st place. I hate it for everyone involved. We were gonna make a run with Colt, but this team is missing Alex.

Kirk was always my first option. I'm a fan, but he's come up small this year. I don't think that's a hot take at this point.

That's a fair question. I think my standards and expectations for Kirk may be a little higher than yours. I see the Buffalo game. I see the pick6s. I see that he's tied for the lead among QBs in lost fumbles since 2016, and the Vikings are basically 500. as Kirk has pretty much been his entire career.

When Minnesota grabbed Kirk, I said "oh shit, they got a quarterback now. That's all they needed." I picked the Rams to represent the NFC this year, but I had them playing the Vikings to get there. Maybe they still do.

I just really thought he would be a difference maker. Just put them over the top. It just hasn't happened yet. I know it's a team sport, but imo he's a major upgrade from Keenum, yet Kirk hasn't beaten a team all year that had a winning record at kickoff.

You know it is a team game but you laid it all on one person. I detailed what has happened this season and gave Cousin's blame where he deserved it. You say pick 6s but you didn't mention one of them went right through Treadwells hands and another Diggs stopped running in the middle of the route. The DB didn't the ball went right to the DB because Diggs stopped. You forgot to mention Cousin's outplayed Brees by a mile but two turnovers, one by Thielen and one by Diggs cost them the game.

You forgot to mention the D has been no where near the same D as last year. You forgot to mention Dalvin Cook has missed half the season. You forgot to mention Cousin's lost three starting Olineman before the season started.

So I think whining is fair.

You started this thread saying "This team could really use Alex Smith right now. I know I'll get a bunch of hate for this post, but winning ugly was still winning." So I wasn't mad. I agreed that the team played best when Smith was starting but not because of Smith but instead because the rest of the team helped carry him. I did give him credit for being the best starter on the team …. this year.

So I say again, I will take 4700 yards, 29 TDs and 12 picks … and the fumbles. It is better than anything the Redskins had this year.

I've just come to accept the fact that I could say 10 positive things about Kirk, which I often do, but responding to a direct question honestly gets me killed. I understand the temperature of the board at the moment.
