I'm from Tampa, and this week I've been hearing a lot of mixed views from buddies as to who they want between Winston and Mariota.... Which with so many UF fans in the Tampa area, half the fan base will be pissed if they go JW

Personally I'd take Winston. I think he is the better nfl talent wise. Now off the field?? that's a chance I'd take.

I'd stay away from Winston. Maturity issues will hold him back. Look at Johnny Clipboard. Also look at the last decade or so of Heisman's. More busts than successes.

And with the most recent news on Johnny, it's only going to intensify the microscope on Winston

Not too much of a pro fan. I just don’t think Winston is a wise choice, especially in light of all the recent douches ( Manziel, etc ) to grace the NFL with their “immaturity” issues. You can’t change a tiger’s stripes. The NFL will wring it out of him. He hasn’t learned a thing about maturity, integrity, humility, and a number of other core character traits that define EVERY single outstanding NFL QB you can name. No, Jimbo nursed this wasteoid and turned a blind-eye to all of it. It will all come back to roost in the NFL. So no, if I’m picking QBs in Tampa, I go with Mariota. He has those personal traits that Winston will never develop.

You make a very good point, especially with the heisman winners. But Winston does have tremendous on field talent. It's prolly better if he goes to a team who doesn't have success right away but gradually becomes a force. I honestly do think Winston could be a good pro. (Wish the Pats wouldn't have drafted Jimmy Gallappolo).

More so at other positions than QB you get some kids coming into the draft with different issues off the field or maturity wise that find success... It's a risk but they're not going to judge him only on what's been reported by certain media. Once you talk to a kid you can figure out where his head is

Well RG3 is probably model citizen off the field, and that's not helping the Skins win!

Winston has a pro-style and build, but I think he's gonna have a rough start in the NFL for the same reason lots of highly picked qbs do.....A team is gonna draft him looking for a savior instead of a trainee and that kind of pressure early seems to ruin guys who aren't well grounded.

To the question asked, I'd draft Mariota before Winston banking on his talent and stability.

I gotcha, was just wondering if you were a Bucs fan and more so against the idea of picking him partly bc he's from FSU. Lol.

And i really don't think an NFL team is going to not pick him bc of a couple things that happened when he was 18 (bb guns, soda) and a $32 theft with a side of FHRITP.

Bingo on drafting looking for a Savior. I said in a couple other threads he needs to go to a team with an established QB who will be there for 3 yrs or so. Give him some time to "grow up". He reminds me of the Colt's punter in his immaturity. Guys name is Pat McAfee. Dude is a hell of a player, but almost ruined his career in the first year. 6 yrs in and he is a model citizen and one hell of a person off the field.

The saddest defense I have seen of Winston is when FSUManager claimed that Winston shouldn't have any remorse for standing up on a table and yelling out FIRTHP in public.

That is completely Deplorable!
