Being accused doesn't mean shit unless it can be proven. This is not politics.

I said he took the crab legs. What more am I supposed to say?. The squirrel thing does not bother me. Maybe it is the country in me, but I honestly do not care about it. I said I agreed with the suspension for yelling the meme. What more do you want?

Look I have had this discussion more times than I wanted to with customers who are CFB fans. I will ask you the same thing I asked them. If not for the accusation would the other stuff bother them. They all answered the same way. No.

If there was a player at USC who did the crap Winston has done minus the r*pe allegation, I'd be pissed. They are not "normal students," they are the public face of the university.

If I'm walking through USC's campus and I see some regular student jump up on a table and scream FHRITP, I'm just going to think "dumbass college kid" and not really care about it. But if I see Leonard Williams or someone like that doing it, I'm looking for a coach or someone from the athletic department and asking "What is this fucktardery?"

Is it fair? Probably not. But when you accept that scholarship, you are agreeing to be a face of the university and are held to a different standard.

Because people insist on acting like he "got away with it". All because they believe he did commit the act of r*pe. When they are able to separate the two I would not have to say anything.

At minimum he dodged a fair investigation, that tends to piss people off. You can blame the TPD, but he's the one who has benefited most.

I dont want or expect anything, but I can say that you can only have someones back so long before they make you look like a fool. Nebraska fans know this well ie Lawrence Phillips.

Maybe he will win a couple more games and get the hell out of Tallahassee before he fucks up your program.
It comes down to people going overboard with stating their opinions as fact. And lumping everything into one ball because of the accusation. Without that nobody would say a word.

I am not going to be made a fool because I have no vested interest in this. I am a fan. I have never waivered and will not just because others tell me I should. He is a hell of a football player who has made some stupid decisions. It t ends there with me.

When he leaves. He leaves. Time for the next QB to take the reigns.

Yeah well. Life is not fair. I know it is cliche, but it is true. Too many cases to show that. People are pissed even though it means nothing to them. That is the part I do not get and never will. And it goes way beyond sports. It literally has ZERO EFFECT on them, but they scream the loudest. Why?

I would feel the same as well. Until it is proven he is guilty of r*pe, I have very little issue with him right now. I wouldn't want him as my poster child, but he's a f'n QB,...a commodity and nothing more.

Guilty of r*pe...well that's a different story.

That is fine. How do you or I know that someone did not say something to him? Because ESPN or the NYT did not report it? There is a lot that we do not see or hear. So assume something was not said(even multiple times) is an assumption at best.

In all honesty, your incessant defending of him has kept this topic alive here more than anything else. Disengaging (like many of the fsu fans here have done) would keep threads from exploding and minimize the backlash.

We all know your opinion already, so restating it over and over doesn't accomplish anything.

Visibility equals greater awareness which in this case has generated increased outrage. Maybe the problem isn't the reaction to this case, but the lack of reaction to a lot of others.

Man I have tried to disengage, but then you get mods and the owner calling me out. Fuck I am going to say something.

And the last line applies to every person on here. But yet I am the one who should not say anything? A little bit of a double standard don't you think?

I understand people want to nitpick him and FSU because it makes them feel better, but to be quite honest they really have a problem because they kept on winning. That is what I gather from most people. They are more pissed that FSU has not lost. And that goes double for my friends(not the guys on the hoop) in Alabama. They hate that FSU keeps winning.

No. I am saying either way IMO it is not a big deal. Call me lame or whatever else. I do not see shooting squirrels as a big deal. DUI or drugs would hit my give a shit radar, but not shooting squirrels. Fine him and move on.

Again, context man.

I'm sure most people don't see shooting squirrels as a big deal. But doing it on a college campus is really fucking stupid, I think most would agree.

And whether or not you believe he committed the act or not is irrelevant. The point is most people with half a brain in the position he's in would lay low after such an accusation. He has done the opposite and continues to do and say dumb shit.

I agreed with you up to this point. It is absolutely fair.

Accepting the responsibilities that come with an athletic scholarship is part of the package. Playing football at any university is a privilege, not an entitlement.

As for a kid yelling offensive remarks in the dining hall, I think you will find very few colleges or universities that will be willing to simply brush off that kind of behavior - especially not in today's environment. Is that fair? Yes. Yes it is.

Stupid yes. A big deal like everyone is making it out be? Absolutely not.

No he did not lay low. But it seems(Operative word) since the FHRITP he has learned he has to. I will say it again. He is a hell of a football player who has made some stupid decisions and is immature. I can say no less or no more. Unlike many on here.

That's fair. Maybe something was said. Other than the quote that started this thread, I can't remember him doing anything since then.
