Would you guys consider that a penalty? He did target the kid & came from quite a distance away. .
fair bump, play on.
kid had the puck, trouba hit him from the side, led with shoulder, and didn't leave his feet.
classic case of keep your head up. what finish though.
From the moment that kid stepped on the ice, you knew he was looking for trouba.

This, He was playing the puck and got creamed. Play on and nice hit.
One can tell this hit didn't happen in the NHL. There was no immediate fight after a clean hit.
I think it helped that dude didn't circle around....pose....then gear up for the immediate trouble coming flying at him because he knew he just fucked up. He just skated away like it was no big deal or anything to hurt said lame duck laying against the boards in a heap so it petered out quick.

i know i'm very much in the minority on this.. but i actually think fighting after a clean hit is fine.. who cares if it's clean or not, if your dude ended up with a fractured skull, you should stand up for him.. who cares if an elbow or a shoulder did the damage, or if the dude left his feet.. your guy got mauled, time to maul someone in retaliation
As long as the refs ding the guy who starts a fight after a clean hit with a 2 minute minor plus a 10 minute misconduct, I'm fine with it as well.
I agree 100%. teams that are prepared to die and kill for each other win.i know i'm very much in the minority on this.. but i actually think fighting after a clean hit is fine.. who cares if it's clean or not, if your dude ended up with a fractured skull, you should stand up for him.. who cares if an elbow or a shoulder did the damage, or if the dude left his feet.. your guy got mauled, time to maul someone in retaliation
