Not having Dave Hakstol as a finalist is a complete joke. His first season in any pro league, made the jump from the NCAA and got the Flyers into the playoffs.

I don't really think that either of those details are factors for this award though. That doesn't mean that they're not positive details of course.

The Flyers, Bruins and Red Wings competed in a game of "who can suck less" down the stretch to make the playoffs.

While I agree that he did decent enough in his first NHL season, he's not even in this discussion.
