Wonder if this would've been enough. My guess is he'd still want that 4th year option. Oh well. Would've been nice to have him in the lineup. Especially with a guy like Crawford who can come in as a defensive replacement and spell him occasionally.

That lineup would have been oh so nice:

1. Rollins - SS
2. Pagan - CF
3. Sandoval - 3B
4. Posey - C
5. Huff - 1B
6. Sanchez - 2B
7. Cabrera/Belt - LF
8. Schierholtz - RF

Unless Cabrera takes the suck train hard core, he's going to be starting over Nate regardless of the outfield spot.

You may be right, but I don't think that is such a good idea. I think Pagan is good enough to help out Melky in left if Nate is out there to cover most of Triples' Alley, but Cabrera in right? No, thank you. It's okay. Tzill has a fever.

I think Nate will get the lion's share of the starts at RF in China Basin. On the road, if Cabrera is outhitting Nate, I'd have no problem letting him have the majority of the starts.

The issue is too many OFs, especially when you include Belt. Huff's fault.

And if tzill's fever gets cured, we have 1 more. I'm not too worried about that happening.

We didn't trade Chez for a backup OF did we, or a guy who only starts vs lefties? Or did we trade Chez to bench Belt?

The guys in charge aren't dumdums so we'll see what they have in store.
