If it were up to me, I'd grab Rollins (assuming he'd take it) for a 3 year, $37.5mil contract and then I'd go grab Crisp for a 2 year, $15mil contract. These two aren't my ideal people to pick up, but it sounds like the FO won't break the bank this offseason.....and these two seem to offer the most bang for the buck.
This is the way I would go as well. Tell him to go grab his buddy CC and come on home.
Giants in the Mix for CC Sabathia: Report | NBC Bay Area
There are sometimes I wish we were the Yankees and signed whoever the hell we wanted. Then I remembered that the Yankee's have only 1 title the last 10 years despite that... and everybody hates the Yankees.
Me too, but ultimately, I like the home-grown guys better than the hired-guns.
Nate has a special place in my heart because he is a home-grown guy. If we got him in a trade or as a FA, than who cares. Kinda like Fontenot or Keppy. Good players, but who gives a shit?

I hope you all realize that his "rumor" was drummed up by some agent to get more money for CC. There is absolutely ZERO chance that they could afford to bring him to the Bay Area. Plus, if they had that kind of money, one would figure they would spend it on a hitter first. The rotation is not a problem for the Giants. The guys with the long sticks in their hands swinging wildly at nothing in particular is where the deficiencies lie.
While it would be SICK to see rotation of Timmeh, CC, Bum, Cain and Song (yes, this is the order I see it coming down to), It would not ultimately result in very many additional wins. If the money were there to CC, they would need to go for Beltran, Reyes and a SOLID backup catcher.
Since the money is NOT there, lets get Crisp, make a stab at Beltran, and get a lower-end starting catcher as our back-up. Anything left over goes into the Save-Timmeh fund.

Didn't we go through this CC routine the first time! I actually remember reading quite a bit about the SF interest and CC being willing to play in SF. Then I remember the NYY throwing a ton of money at him --- and that's when story ended
Same Shit Different Day
Well said. HF award worthy....
CC grew up a Giant fan, so he will be linked to the Giants every time he is available.
He is also a unicorn so the Giants HAVE to at least talk to him and his team to see how things look.
But the current makeup of the team and the makeup of the current payroll dictate that it would be one HELL of a strange set of circumstances that result in him playing for the Giants next year.
I agree...but remember one thing....no one saw Cliff Lee landing with the Philles last year...no one thought they would have the money.
3 years 35 million
You get to play in the most beautiful park ever made
You get to play for your favorite team as a kid
You get to play defense for 4 awesome pitchers
You get to be a San Francisco Giant
Take it or Leave it J-ROll
I'd rather go 3/$37.5 than either of the 4/$44 or 5/$50, but 3/$37.5 is the most I'd offer JRoll. Hopefully he'd take it if he didn't have any better offers, but I'm sure he'll find something better than my offer.
