Addition by subtraction..... He's just like Fielder this year. Played way below his standard, I'd rather have him sitting out.

Obviously the dude is hurt and who knows how long he has been, probably goes back to ST which is why he didn't perform well this season. You can't fault a players performance too much when you find out they've probably been injured all year. Just opens a door for another player to prove themselves worthy of a role, unfortunately there haven't been a lot of guys ready to take the next step or any that have really performed well enough to say the have a permanent role anywhere

Adduci 2 for 5 w a K for RR tonight, after Choice was pulled tonight (though he produced well tonight) Jim may need to be called back sooner rather than later. hopefully he's healed

6-2 when Gimenez plays and he has hit in 7 straight games with avg at 424.

It looks like Ogando is going to need TJ also. There's another pitcher we can't count on anymore as a Ranger in the future.

Bacsik had a good point. We need Scheppers to step up and take over the closer role so we can trade Soria. I bet DET would give us a nice package for him.

very little you can count on from year to the next in baseball.
Seems you'd like a log jam at 1B but ready to kick the closer to the curb.

Here's a tip: use the quote button.
A logjam at first? We have 1 1B and he was our DH. I want hitters that can drive runners in from the middle of the line-up. He would most likely sign a 1 year deal, so there goes you logjam BS. On your stupid "kick Soria to the curb" comment...I would without a doubt trade Soria to the highest bidder at the deadline if we're out of it. Soria has been awesome which is why there will be a good size market for him. That's if Scheppers gets back to where he was from last year.

I'm message board experienced but thanks for the tip.
IF WE'RE OUT OF IT should be understand that a closer with value could be moved as could any player with value to the beholder.

4/5 month deal you say. We'll see if that's how this works out. I think it's more a commitment than that...thus log jam, all bull shit aside

Do you want Closer to be a problem in the future? We already have enough holes. Learn from Detroit's mistake. Good closers rarely come walking in the door.

Our biggest hole is in the rotation next year. By the way I said if Scheppers gets back to what he was last year.

I don't see how a logjam of movable assets is a problem. Although I still don't think it would be

Edit : I didn't mean to quote night crawler on this

Alright..... Well if Scheppers is used to the bullpen that's fine. I still think some people are too eager to get rid of proven players. I've heard a lot of " trade Rios" lately and now Soria. I understand the need to have a good farm system, but you need some good major league guys too. I hardly think Choice and Scheppers can pick up the slack for Rios and Soria. It's a possibility a few years down the road , but not now .

I've been on Rios' case for awhile because of how he never dives or beats out his league leading DPs, but I'm not on board with trading him. He's been our most consistent hitter. If Choice continues to hit like he did last night and ST then that's another logjam that's a good problem to have. If a closer can get us a starter for next year then I'd have to consider it.

In what world does a closer get you a ML ready starter?

He could get us a prospect that's close that can make the team next year. Look at what we gave up to get Uehara. Davis started the next year and hit 53 HR's. Anything could happen is my point.

none that i know of. you might get a couple of prospects with maybe one of them in the low 15-20 level of the other team's prospects
