Addition by subtraction..... He's just like Fielder this year. Played way below his standard, I'd rather have him sitting out.

6-2 when Gimenez plays and he has hit in 7 straight games with avg at 424.
very little you can count on from year to the next in baseball.
Seems you'd like a log jam at 1B but ready to kick the closer to the curb.
Here's a tip: use the quote button.
A logjam at first? We have 1 1B and he was our DH. I want hitters that can drive runners in from the middle of the line-up. He would most likely sign a 1 year deal, so there goes you logjam BS. On your stupid "kick Soria to the curb" comment...I would without a doubt trade Soria to the highest bidder at the deadline if we're out of it. Soria has been awesome which is why there will be a good size market for him. That's if Scheppers gets back to where he was from last year.

Do you want Closer to be a problem in the future? We already have enough holes. Learn from Detroit's mistake. Good closers rarely come walking in the door.

I'm message board experienced but thanks for the tip.
IF WE'RE OUT OF IT should be understand that a closer with value could be moved as could any player with value to the beholder.
4/5 month deal you say. We'll see if that's how this works out. I think it's more a commitment than that...thus log jam, all bull shit aside
Our biggest hole is in the rotation next year. By the way I said if Scheppers gets back to what he was last year.
Alright..... Well if Scheppers is used to the bullpen that's fine. I still think some people are too eager to get rid of proven players. I've heard a lot of " trade Rios" lately and now Soria. I understand the need to have a good farm system, but you need some good major league guys too. I hardly think Choice and Scheppers can pick up the slack for Rios and Soria. It's a possibility a few years down the road , but not now .
I've been on Rios' case for awhile because of how he never dives or beats out his league leading DPs, but I'm not on board with trading him. He's been our most consistent hitter. If Choice continues to hit like he did last night and ST then that's another logjam that's a good problem to have. If a closer can get us a starter for next year then I'd have to consider it.
In what world does a closer get you a ML ready starter?
