We have to lay off Ubaldo's garbage out of the strike zone tonight. Hope we show some patience at the plate.

I was talking about 5-7 for the rest of the year, not prorated, and I'm being VERY generous (in my mind)

But him not taking the QO WAS a complete failure, he never had any to much value, once the Mariners put the QO to him it only made sense to go back to Seattle, b/c no team was going to pay him what he wanted AND give up a draft pick to do so

He is what he is, a solid bat with a little pop and not a lot of walks that can't play defense and when he does its 1B, that doesn't hold much value in the scheme of things

Difference is that Cruz actually does play a little OF, not well, but he does play the OF and probably provides a bit more power potential than Morales, as much as I bash Cruz for his decision making, Morales is even worse, he's just not that good and only helps a team in need of an extra bat that doesn't already have a permanent DH type

Oh... for the rest of the season that is pretty generous. Still think someone will at least ink him for an additional season at least though.

Agree and can use his speed. He had a number of hits that did not make it out of the IF. Has hurt us not having him.

I was Choice's biggest fan out of ST but he needs to go back down and find his stroke again. He's not taking the ball to RF anymore. I imagine Adduci would immediately be up with the ML roster once healthy. Keep Robertson up and send Choice down. He'll get his chance.

If it doesn't cost a ton then I would sign him for the second year or maybe a club option. He might just want the 1 year deal so he can try FA again without draft compensation. Maybe he does what Nelly is doing with his opportunity.

Saunders has had success against the O's in his career. I know their line-up is different, but sometimes pitchers just have success against a team for whatever reason. He's 7-0 w/ a 4.09 ERA.

:agree:..............MC will be a much more valuable chip if he goes down, learns to play R/CF and hits better with power......Like you said, his day will come, it just isn't today.

My goodness....that's fantastic. This must mean he really has been pretty weak against the rest of MLB.

Baltimore Orioles outfielder Nelson Cruz, who leads the majors with 20 home runs, is in the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against the Rangers.

Cruz, who also leads the majors with 52 RBIs, was hit in the left hand by Houston's Scott Feldman and left Sunday's game in the third inning. X-rays were negative.

Good to hear......hope we wear his ass out, but still happy to see him not seriously hurt.

Last time Saunders and Baltimore had anything to do together concerning us was when he and the O's beat us that wild card game two years ago. Hope fortunes change.

Hey Nellie!

The Nelson Cruz I remember would have K'ed on at least 2 of those pitches. He's locked in.

I guess RW got my message to rest Choo for the last game in DC, use the travel day for treatment and give him at least 1/2 game off tonight (DH).
