We suck up front. Plain and simple. Both sides of the ball.......STILL NOT PLAYING PHYSICAL FOOTBALL.

Say what you want about Taylor......when you lose the turnover battle as easily as we do, it all goes back to what is happening up front.

First quarter our DL was jacked.......then all of a sudden it looked like UCLA part 2.

Our OL does a decent job in the run game, but they are fucking PATHETIC when it comes to protecting Taylor in the pass game. Taylor threw some shitty passes, but go back and watch how long the pocket holds up all night long.......it doesn't hold up......hell, there isn't even a pocket there.

Regardless of what happens with the rest of this season, changes are looming. It won't be Bo, but it will be others. It needs to happen......and it is going to.......Bo finally sees that this current combination is not working.

Guaranteed, if we had an OL and DL worth a shit, we would have won the turnover battle last night, and ultimately won the game. The problem isn't nearly as complex as it seems, and the solution is even more simple.

Time for Bo to get rid of the bad eggs.

Agree 100%. The best change that happened was that Osborne left (gasp!). Maybe Bo can run the program the way he see's fit and not have to worry about Tom telling him to get rid of Sanders, who decided to think with his little head. I don't care if he nailed every 'of age' co-ed on campus because the guy could flat out coach football. As long as it didn't interfere with him on the field or practice then I don't care. I hated to see Eckler go but you can't keep good staff around when the Blackshirts (sigh..remember those days) were doing what they were doing...

I watched the highlights of the Fla State loss and I was quite taken aback that the noles defensive line had the push and was in the backfield constantly. It must be a combination of strength, technique, speed, focus, and heart that the Husker D line is lacking. The Cotton line is a cluster "f" of many things including softness. Our lines were and are the problem - hell for three quarters they imposed their will on no one.

Replace Dobson.

It all starts up front (both sides of the ball) and he's been in place since 2008. Throw out the Suh years (he was gifted w/ natural strength) and you can see NU is soft up front both offensively and defensively.

Boyd Eppley had no problem getting local kids up to strength for the "Pipeline".

Dobson is an obvious problem.

i watched the game with my dad last night. one comment he made (it was after taylor extended a play and scored a TD running headfirst into an LB) was "that kid is a gamer." yeah he has fucked up a lot, but personally i don't doubt the fight in him. he WANTS to win. so i will keep cheering for him, despite his drawbacks.

I love Taylor.......and you're absolutely right, he is a gamer. The guy is trying his best out there........can't say the same about everyone else......

The theory about the recruiting is honestly something I've been entertaining here lately.....

When you think about what it was like when Bo came in, we had this tremendous Defense, and this atrocious Offense. In particular, we did not have much at the skill positions......now fast forward a few years. We have all this talent at the skill positions, and we have nobody up front on either side of the ball.

How does this happen? I think it's recruiting. I think it was obvious what Bo was able to do with outstanding talent on his Defensive Line when he came in here..........and I think you can obviously see the difference now that we're changing Steinkuhler and Meredith's diapers week-in and week-out.

And honestly, we do not need THIS much fucking talent at the skill positions..........

Just look at a Bill Snyder coached football team. He has a few flashy guys, and the rest is all hard work. All you need are a few playmakers to be a good team.

NU did just fine under Milt Tenopir with homegrown talent that was beefed up in Boyd Epply's strength and conditioning program. They were called The Pipeline. They were disciplined players as well.

Pelini is a pompous bloviating Fuck.

Snyder would fucking OWN Pelini year in and year out if we were still in the Big XII North. It only took Bill a couple years to get K State back on it's feet for the 2nd time.

I understand what you're saying..........I just can't see Milt Tenopir taking wee wittle Cam Meredith and Baker babycakes Steinkuhler and turning them into anything more than they are right now.....

Neither honestly appear to have the physical tools that it takes to compete at this level.......that is just my honest opinion. I don't even know if they could develop into players that could compete at this level.....

Milt was O-Line coach.

I could see Boyd Epply improving their strength and conditioning.

I think a % of our problem is in Dobson.

That was possibly the dumbest thing I've ever posted here............I apologize to Husker nation for typing that, and may God have mercy on my soul for completely not taking the time to think before posting......

I would be willing to forfeit all of the Offensive firepower that we currently have just to have that 2009 Defense back again......

I agree Suh made such an impact, but I mean my God......our entire Defense was swarming to the ball. How many times did O'hanlon come flying out of nowhere to make a tackle for a loss? How many times did Hagg come flying out of nowhere to knock a pass down?

Those guys as a whole had the entire field completely on lockdown.

We literally went from one extreme to the complete opposite in a matter of 3 years.....

Recruiting just makes too much sense here....

2008 class was a complete joke. 2009 wasn't much better.

10 11 and 12 classes are ridiculously more talented even if it doesn't show on the rankings.

2008 he had a huge class full of worthless bums.
