I think that Cousins in his 2 year stint as starting QB is progressing. I think as time goes by he has not worried as much about getting the ball out quickly and has gone downfield more often. He actually throws a fairly deep long ball. I also think Reed being out of the lineup has been a big reason DJax has seen more balls lately. You can say the same for all the receivers.
I think his deep ball capability is underrated. I remember some were saying he didn't have the arm strength to find DJax deep. Well, clearly he does. Cousins has progressed quite a bit and should continue to do so as he gains more experience in pre reading defenses. There is no reason to believe he won't, he is a hard worker and knows that this is what makes him successful. Sign him as soon as we can so we can move on and concentrate on other parts of the team that is broken.

What's the FT number for a WR?

Figure it at $15M

To get the real number would take me a bit of research though. Cause its going to be the average of the top five WRs salaries.

Give me an hour and I will give you a better number.

Actually scratch the hour... not needed.
this years FT for a WR was $14.6M

2017 should hit right around $15.2m

Ugh. I understand we probably have the money, but I dont see SM paying him $15M. He is just to fragile.

No doubt. $7-10M a year I would say yes. But $15m for a one year rental. Would have to figure if we tag him, he will skip every voluntary work out. Not a solid investment.

Yeah, plus I could see where franchising Jackson could also lead to him becoming disgruntled. And I'm not sure a disgruntled Jackson makes that nice sideline toe tapping catch against the Panthers I believe. Or that catch against Cincy where he took a big shot afterward and had to come out the game. Those suddenly become imcompletions and then others, other players, coaches, fans, start too get disgruntled as well. I wanna keep Jackson in a Skins uni up to a point. Franchising him, like you say for what essentially becomes a one year rental goes beyond that point.

Maybe if we had a solid defense and were a legit 12-4/13-3 team with a realistic shot at making a run at a Super Bowl title. We're still in the up and coming stage though. So if the only way Djax stays a Skins is via the franchise tag. I say pass.
