Not in love with the hire, but I understand it. Gonna support the move as I trust the front office. Too bad SVG wanted the world. I think at worst Kerr has this team in the playoffs next year.

Well, certainly different than Jackson's rah-rah approach. We'll see how well Kerr develops and implements his schemes. The guys he brings in with him will be important.

If they make a 1st round exit in the playoffs next year Lacob will have to go into hiding.....

Why? It's not just about next year. It's about the future. Mark Jackson's poor working relationship with everyone on his coaching staff and the front office isn't something that the Lacob and co. should deal with every season. Stop it.

It is kind of odd that they would go from one coaching hire with no coaching experience at any level to another one back to back like this.

Hopefully he will allow those guys to use their expertise instead of being threatened by it like Jackson was.

The GSW finally finally goes out on top .... on paper. We beat out the NYN and LAK to sign Kerr, it looks great on paper. Now, we go get Love and a good backup PG.

You probably mean LAL but as a Sharks fan we still have those freaking Kings on our mind.

Anyhow I really love the move Kerr sounds like a hard worker that has a vision for what he wants to do with the club.

Steve Kerr on taking the Warriors job, his offensive style, Steph Curry, saying no to Phil Jackson and much, much more ? Talking Points

KERR: I’ve been preparing for this for a while. I’ve really thought things through in terms of my coaching philosophy. There’s all kinds of stuff I have.. I guess you would call my doctrines, just putting my thoughts on paper.

Jeff Van Gundy told me two years ago, when I said I’d really like to coach, what should I do, he said put all of your thoughts on paper, everything you think is important for a team. Put it on paper. Just a chance to get thoughts together and think about it. And that was great advice.

I’ve done that. Gone over in detail what my expectations would be for a team and how I’d like to play, how my staff would look like, what the daily routine would be, everything from social media, training staff, assist coaching staff… I’ve put a lot of thought in this.

And this year when I really decided I think I’m going to do this, I put together some scouting reports and synopses on the team. So I had stuff prepared for various teams and when the Warriors job opened up, I worked hard on just thinking about their team and what I would like to do and that sort of thing.

So it was just something that I’ve been working on with an eye towards my next career.

I'm glad this guy spends his time thinking about basketball, not about preaching or getting extra sleep.

Well at least it saves us from Mike D'Antoni/Brown or whatever.

I'm skeptical but hey, all we can do is wish him the best and hope he works out. I definitely like that he is openly and unabashedly anti-iso for sure.

The "it was all Mark Jackson's fault" scenario is growing a little tired. He didn't have a poor working relationship with Lacob and the entire coaching staff. What an exaggeration. He wore out his welcome - I can agree that to it. If you think Warriors fans are patient, read this and other boards. If this team regresses, we'll see if the fanbase at large is as patient as you think they are.

My girlfriends boss is legit Kerrs best friend. They grew up together and still talk almost every day. Her boss loves me so I am trying to get free tickets now. Obviously I want Kerr to do a good job, but right now I am just more happy he took that job for the free tickets.

Her boss is actually the one who told me about him possibly going to the Warriors a while ago. Before I had heard anything about it in the news.

Hopefully. Her boss used to be Jerry Rice's agent and when he found out that I was a huge Niner (bay area sports in general) fan he started talking to me all the time about it. When he found out Jerry Rice is my favorite athlete it was the icing on the cake. Every time I see him he wants to talk about the Niners. I am hoping he would be able to score a couple tickets at some point this season when I am visiting family up there. Not sure if he can/will but it would be cool. I will wait until they move across the bay.

I've been to the arena in Oakland only a few times, but it rocks! Its always packed and the fans are wild.
