March 8th (Non-tournament games outside of the rankings)

The last full Saturday of the CBB season looks amazing! We have a Auburn/Alabama rematch, St. John's/Marquette, Arkansas and Baylor trying to better their NCAA chances, and a Duke/UNC game I'm actually interested in! We also have some more tournament action as the first NCAA spots get decided.

But that's for later. First, let's look at good games outside of the rankings (and there ARE a few):

Vanderbilt @ Georgia (12:00)
Yale @ Brown (2:00) (Brown and Harvard are competing for the last spot in the Ivy League tournament.)
Georgia Tech @ Wake Forest (2:15)
Liberty @ Western Kentucky (3:00)
Ohio State @ Indiana (3:45) (Two bubble teams going 1-on-1.)
SMU @ Florida State (4:00)
Providence @ Xavier (4:00)
George Mason @ Richmond (6:00)
Oklahoma @ Texas (8:00) (Well @PhilSimms11, who do you have in this one?)
UC-San Diego @ UC-Davis (11:00)

If Drake, High Point, McNeese should be an at-large if they reach the tourney finals. And the Big West should be a two bid league, both UC San Diego and UC Irvine deserve to dance. a lot more than a team with double digit conference losses like Texas, Ohio State or West Virginia

Woah St Johns beats Marquette in an OT buzzer beater game, Marquette turned it over with a couple of seconds left and the St John‘s guy hit a floater as time expired for the win!

What a finish in Marquette. Marquette with a huge rebound, Johnnies with a bigger steal. They might be for real

Penn State, 5-14 in conference, giving Wisconsin fits in Madison. Badgers on the 2 Seed line now, not if this keeps up

Bama beats Auburn on a buzzer beater in OT!!!! What a day of basketball!
Hell of a game. Meant little overall but pride.

Kansas thumping Arizona. Rock Chalk has been underwhelming (to say the least) but could be deadly in the Dance. The talent still there...

As an Oklahoma fan I ain't ever dismissing Kansas. I don't care what its record is. Wouldn't be a bit surprised if they made it to the Sweet 16.

At this point doesn't Drake (29-3) get at least an at-large? Currently, it has the most wins in D-I.

They beat Iowa State and Michigan State. And, oh yeah, they beat Duke. Their top four scorers are all seniors. ESPN has them as an #8 seed, which isn't good (next game is likely v. #1). If they get off the #8 seed, they could be very dangerous

I do. And I don't think they should be the #12 seed they will likely be. Although there's a ton of 12 over 5 because the NCAA drops these very good middies because they aren't power five and don't bring TV ratings

In the women's game, it could be #1 USC (28-2) vs #2 UCLA (29-2)...in the Big Ten Tournament Championship. How hilarious is that?

A lot of people don't realize how crucial seeding is. Y'all might think not a lot of difference between a #7 and a #8 seed. ESPN has Kansas as an 8. They play MW champ New Mexico first then Auburn. CBS has Kansas #7. They play #10 Georgia then #2 Wisconsin. Of course, the NCAA won't be like this (Auburn was #1 in this bracket before today and KU is slipping anyhoo).

Gators beat Ole Miss by 19 - hell of a regular season for us, we finish with a 27-4 regular season record, have a shot at a 1 seed depending on how the SEC tournament goes. I really like what we have this year.

Duke beats Carolina 82-69. Heels 1-11 in Quad 1 wins and that "1" is UCLA. Whee. Would they even be a bubble if they didn't have history? Seen some rumblings about Hubert Davis' job security. Led then to the title game his 1st year but that was Roy's team. His resume might have two NCAA no shows. Just like Matt Doherty. But there's no Roy Williams ready to step in. Could they coax a big name out of retirement, like Jay Wright or Tony Bennett. But no one has UNC roots. But Dean didn't have a connection either

Barring a 1st round blowout in the SEC, the Gators are a #1 seed. I think the #1's are set, Duke, Auburn, Houston and Florida. Tennessee and Alabama solid #2's. Then probably Michigan State and Texas Tech. St. John's deserves it but their strength of schedule is sketchy. Wisconsin had a #2 but lost it today. A home loss to a crap Penn State who isn't even eligible for the B10 tourney is as bad as it gets

Indiana is losing their coach.... Mike Woodson maybe could do something..

Also - SO stupid how UNC is looking to build off campus and an even smaller arena

GO DUKE!!!!
