Yep, I knew it from what I saw that Sammie tore the ACL. Fox Sports is reporting the Rams have discussed signing Tim Tebow and that his signing could be imminent!

I wouldn't want a Dalton/Locker/Freeman/Ponder/Palmer/Sanchez/Fitzpatrick/Kolb 'solid starting QB' as a long-term replacement for Bradford. I don't want to waste 'a few years' developing Tebow just to get to that point. Anyone coming in at this point as a back-up has to be competent as a possible emergency starter within a week or 2. At least no-one is calling for John Skelton. (I'm going to hide now. lol).

You hide Fastforward? That can't be true. We shall see who is signed because the Rams are going to have to sign somebody because Sammie's season is about done and we only have one QB on the roster.

I agree with you there. We definitely have to have at least 1 QB coming in, possibly 2. Again, this comes back to the wisdom of only having 2 QBs with the 53 man active roster and 8 man practice squad when we have 11 OL on the active roster and another on the practice squad. Did we really need a FB on the practice squad? It's an ugly situation. Thank goodness we're not playing on Thursday.

Few thoughts:

1. If you want Tebow, you're crazy.

2. Fisher is going nowhere.

3. If Fisher were to leave I would look at Mike Sherman.

Again, I hate how people call bust so early in player's career. Has Tom Brady or Kurt Warner or even Brett Favre had a snap this early of their careers?

From what it sounds like, he has one of the best work ethics from any QB. He is great at leading a team. He never gives up. He has the mentality that you want to help turn a team around.

He just doesn't have the skills at this point. Can he develop it? Yes. If he goes to Arena or Canadian, and be there for a few years and develop, he could come in as a better QB. Would he be a Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, or Drew Brees? No. But he can be a solid starting QB.

None of those guys were near as terrible in either category as Tebow. It's not like he's just unpolished. He is literally among the worst at both skills among any QB to see a roster in the last 10 years (and probably much longer). There is no possibility in a million years with the best of the best coaching him that he becomes even a serviceable option. He isn't fixable.

I dont see the Rams interested in Vince Young at all. Didnt Fisher and Young have a horrible relationship in Tennessee.

You can say that again . No way they sign Young.

Why the hell would Sherman leave Miami when he hand picked tannahil?

The way I see it we could sign Tebow and accomplish 2 things:

1.) Tebow doesn't win a game and he is forever out of the spotlight and out of the league
2.) Get a great draft pick and pick a QB

Tebow is simply not good at throwing a football. If he could have improved on this, he would have done so already. That said, he does bring a running element that opposing teams would have to gameplan for. Tebow is not the worst option for the Rams, but it looks doubtful he can ever be a good passer.

Thank God the Rams looking at Tebow rumor was false.

I'm not sure he would leave Tannehill, but you have to think he'd like another HC opportunity at some point. Can't hurt asking.

The Rams have decided against Tebow as this time. The most likely candidate is probably Austin Davis for back-up.

I belive Davis is on the Dolphins roster. The Rams should have kept him anyway. What about John Skelton?

Yea LTR. After I posted that I saw that Davis was snapped up by Miami. Did you happen to catch Thad Lewis yesterday? Another Rams throw-away had a decent game in Buffalo.

Courtesy of KSUDodgers, here is a list of potential available back-ups: Brady Quinn (most likely), Greg McElroy, Jordan (aka Aaron's brother) Rodgers, Tyler Wilson, (Gulp) Vince Young, (no way, not with Fisher around) Collin Klien, (OMG) JaMarcus Russell (tub of fat lard even with his weight loss) Jimmy Clausen (one of the likelies) David Carr (head case).
