Believe it or not Shaq gave a good comment on it in reply to charles and that was that the court is like a safe haven or a place of familiarity . Shaq referenced the loss of his grandma in a similar way And BTW everyone is overblowing Barkleys comments. I think he was trying to be supportive not disruptive I mean it was a really bad scene

Agree. Sometimes, in a situation like that, the best thing you can do is something familiar that allows you to take your mind off of what is happening/has happened, even if only for a couple of hours.
I understood what Barkley was saying, he just struggled with how to say it. When he first said that seeing him crying on the side of the court like that made him uncomfortable, I thought...it's not about you. Then he clarified and said it "made him uncomfortable for IT" then I understood what he was trying to say.
