There's no concrete evidence to support this claim.
That reminds me of the terrible basketball court we used to play roller hockey on as a kid. Some of the cracks were so huge your wheels would actually go down in them and you'd slam down to the ground. We also had no nets so nobody was really certain on whether some team had scored or not.
I think it's awesome. Hope the school keeps it.
