I read that the deadline to sign any 2009 draft picks from the CHL & Europe is June 1st.

If so who from your team will or won't be signed?

According to reports both the Islanders & Casey Cizikas say a deal will get done.

I don't expect David Toews or Shane Sims to be signed.

yes, you've got 2 years to sign you picks or they either go back in to the draft of become UFA (depending on age).
Canucks got Bill Sweatt via UFA last summer after he declined to sign a deal with the Leafs.

The Flames have yet to announce the signing of Tim Erixon - Hey Feaster, use your head (that's the lump three feet about your gigantic ass).

Well according to a report I saw Feaster has been working on a deal with Erixon, but it's unclear whether they'll get it done by tomorrow's deadline.

Cizikas has signed a 3 year deal with the Islanders.

Sounds like Erixon may want to spend another season in Sweden...Hopefully, Feaster can still sign h.im and convince him to come to Calgary/Abbotsford.

I need a CBA refresher, if the Flames sign Erixon, but he decides to stay in Sweden this year, do the Flames lose both cap room and a year of a cheap entry level contract?!? That would suck donkey balls.

You don't use the cap room if he's not in the league.
I don't think it would burn an E.L. contract year either, but I'm not sure about that.

He would count as one of the 50 allowable pro contracts though.

It does not kill the elc. Those years only apply in the possession of the nhl team

NYR believed to be hot and heavy in talks with CGY to get Erixon. Tim's dad, Jan, play for NYR. Tim was born in Port Chester, NY. Stay tuned

Oh I will Bobby...

bob mckenzie -

Less than 3 hrs to 5 pm ET deadline, but hearing CGY may not get 09 1st-rounder Tim Erixon signed. If not, he re-enters 2011 draft.
Obviously still time to get a deal done, though. With this entry-level system, rare for a first-rounder to not sign and "re-enter."
If Erixon re-enters draft, scouts all over map on where he may be taken. Everything from top 10 to second round. No strong consensus.
$ not usually factor in entry-level situations. Maybe Erixon wants to play elsewhere? ~~~~(see post #9) ~~~~ If so, his rights will be traded before deadline.
Erixon taken 23rd in 09. If he re-enters, I believe (someone will correct me if I'm wrong) CGY gets 23rd pick in 2nd rd (53rd) to compensate

Now Brooksie has chimed in...

Rangers have been given permission to negotiate contract with Erixon, Post has learned....believed conditional trade deal in place with Calg

According to Bob McKenzie:

CGY trades Tim Erixon and 5th rounder to NYR in exchange for Roman Horak and two second-round picks.
