It's been frustrating, but the Sox are still in a good position to make the playoffs. The people calling this the "most unlikable Red Sox team" is pretty absurd IMO. Do people not remember 2000, 2001, or 2012?

Yes but when they slump together it's awful.. It all starts imo with absolutely NO leadership! Regardless of what Pedroia stated

They should be exploring their 1B options. Moreland simply isn't a good player. Hopefully 3B is finally resolved with Devers and Nunez.

At this point there is no one out there... Hosmer is the only thing I can think of but it would cost Devers, money and someone else, especially considering KC is on fire right now. Therefore I just don't see them getting anyone except bullpen help, which appears they are trying to get Addison Reed

Not sure the Royals are going to deal him now that they're in the thick of the AL Central and Wild Card races. The Royals window is closing, I'm sure they'd like to squeeze in another postseason run.

Exactly, that's why I said IF they would it would cost too much but if it's an option the Red Sox might just be that stupid to do it

3-7 last 10 games... That aint gonna cut it record wise.... Offense needs help.. But I think what we see today is what the offense will be and the only thing the Red Sox MIGHT get would be bullpen help

Hopefully things will turn around but I don't see them turning around that quickly.

ok fine @navamind this article makes me think that it IS a possibility for things to turn around offensively.

The Red Sox offense has been average, but can it get better? - The Boston Globe

Speier's the only Red Sox writer worth reading, granted that article's from over a month ago. Fangraphs does project considerable improvement from most of the Red Sox batters and projects them to score 5.08 R/G over the remainder of the season (4.77 so far).
