You're probably right. I attended the 6th game of that series which was a dbacks route. So I went down to game 7 with a local pro ticket scalper who said we could get in for $150-175. Well, tickets were going for $200 when we arrived and my scalper friend said the prices will drop. Instead, the prices dramatically increased to $350-400 just to get in the door! So we ended up going across the street to a huge bar where we watched the game on big screen tv's. What was really cool that night was a B-2 bomber did the flyover, and back then none of us knew what the hell it was.
So much for "Good Pitching beats Good Hitting"
Seems like that statement becomes less and less true every year
People that know a lot more than me (Jessica Mendoza this morning on ESPN for instance), talk about the stitching being different, the leather smoother, and the ball just generally tighter
She says that all players know it
Not at all. Do you have legitimate proof?
On another note, Kershaw is killing his legacy
Last week a couple of Dodgers fans on here were talking serious exception to me saying that I wasn't sure his postseason struggles were over. I wasn't even derogatory, I just said that he's had some great games but the jury was still out from my perspective.
They got all sensitive and pulled some "yeah, but Kluber sucked this year" nonsense, as if one thing has to do with the other.
They were online during the game last night, I tagged them and asked about it, but they ducked.
I read this morning that he's given up more homeruns this postseason than any other pitcher in the history of baseball.
I just don't see how someone could not question his postseason makeup. He's arguably the best pitcher of his generation and he's got a 4.50 ERA in 118 playoff innings.
I'm still interested to see what their response is to Kershaw's start, so ... @OutlawImmortal @CatsTopPac, care to share your thoughts?
That is why there is no correct answer as it is too subjective. I liked this one best because I'm a Cardinals fan.
Some of that not his fault...baseballs are juiced
Why not?
How did you feel about Youkilis?O'Neill impossible not to love on this end, dude was the heart and soul
One of many articles on it, it's not a secret: The Juiced Ball Is Back
Not really, he's gonna be a first ballot HOFer even if he is all regular season genius and mediocre postseason.
It's weird, for the regular season Kershaw is way better than Bumgarner, but then Bum is so much better in the playoffs. Go figure.
So, I don't think I'm the only one who thinks this but, this World Series is AMAZING. Couldn't of asked for a better series (unless the Yankees were involved ). But is this the best World Series of all-time? If it isn't what is?
I think most true baseball fans realize the 1960 World Series wasn't that great. Had a great moment. But not a great series.Dunno if it is since the first million or so happened before I was too little to care ... but I certainly hope we can at some point lay to rest the bulshit myth that the 1960 series was so great because of Mazeroski's home run. That was one of the worst W.S. ever up to that point.
I think 1991 is my choice because mostly of the teams that were in it and where they were in 1990.
