don't how we can consider a pitcher (Kyle Cody) who has pitched only 7.2 innings at Rookie league since 2021 as possibly being even close to being ready to pitch at the MLB level. maybe next season at some point

Presumptive starting third-baseman-in-waiting Josh Jung played 1B for the first time professionally last week. Per local reports, he's not moving there, but what if, say, Nate Lowe suffered an injury? Flexibility is fine, but I don't see him switching positions regularly. He could spot at first if a third baseman, but if he became a starting 1B, I doubt he'd sub elsewhere. I guess one question is whether 1B Nate Lowe + 3B Josh Jung is better than 1B Josh Jung + 3B [to be determined]. Lowe has been okay. Taking the average of Baseball Reference and FanGraphs, he's been worth about 1.8 wins above replacement per 150 games. That made him a standout on last year's dire offense and middle-of-the-road so far in 2022. He's been Mitch Moreland: not really good, but steady enough to hold the job. And first base certainly isn't the smoking meteorite crater occupying left field: .175/.237/.242 split amongst 12 (!) players, -0.9 WAR (29th in MLB).

Some won't agree but I want Jung at 3B. Some have suggested Jung at 1B and trade Lowe. Question: can Duran play1B or Huff if we trade Lowe.

Bubba is gonna have to eventually show he can do something with the bat. Speed is great, defense is solid and base stealing is nice but aside from a bunt hit, the bat has been non existent. Obviously its been just a few games/AB's but not sure how long of n audition he'll get with Calhoun coming back eventually. They will probably sign Kole to another year

What good will signing Calhoun possibly help the rebuild?

I don't think he only has that time to prove he belongs.

True and Bubba has not been up very long. Even Calhoun took a long time before he got hot. All the reports we have gotten on Bubba indicates he will come around same as Semien did.

Bubba has been know to have trouble with the breaking stuff. He has other value but yuu need a guy who can hit those pitches in LF. Maybe he comes around. We shall see. Seems like a great kid
