Is that a roundabout way to say in 8 or so innings, he's given up 2 earned runs?
Yea I guess one thing that interested me was 15 pitches per inning. That is good. Maybe the strike to ball ratio too

Three more hits for Foscue last night. His slash line is now:

.292/.375/.493

I am not sure what they are waiting on to send him on to AAA.

Guess it is past the usual send up time but yes he has it going on now for sure

Would think a guy like tjhisnis in our future plans

wouldn't they have to open a spot for him by moving someone at AAA up?

I wonder what effect this record setting heat in Texas has had on our guys at Frisco and Round Rock?

Take Blaine Crim, for instance. At the end of May his slash line was .307/.379/.558 for an OPS of .937. Now is OPS is at .802. Last year he played in Frisco in about 40 games at the end of the year, after the hottest part of the summer and had an OPS of .856.

He did grow up in the south, but the bulk of his playing time was in the spring. Even in the summers he probably never saw heat like this very often.

I imagine none of the players or the coaches would blame the heat, but I do wonder if it has affected some of the guys.

The good news is that if the heat was a problem, Blaine Crim seems to have adapted to it. His OPS for August so far is 1.107.

Yeah, to me there are a few guys at AA that should be moved up.

From Jeff Wilson:

Another rotation opening

Dallas Keuchel could be in the Rangers’ rotation by Saturday.

The Rangers have an opening after right-hander Spencer Howard hit the injured list Wednesday with a shoulder impingement. Keuchel, the former Cy Young winner, pitched Sunday for Triple A Round Rock and would be on five days’ rest for a potential start against Seattle at Globe Life Field.

The only Triple A starter on the 40-man roster is another left-hander, Kolby Allard, and he would also be fresh Saturday.

Another option? Right-hander Cole Winn, though he hasn’t pitched well enough to be rewarded with his MLB debut. However, he is eligible for the Rule 5 draft and needs to be protected by being added to the 40-man roster.

Would the Rangers be better served with Winn on the 40-man or Keuchel? Winn.

Would Allard, Keuchel or Winn give the Rangers a better chance to win? Very debatable.

They have all struggled at times this season — or all sesaon. Keuchel, though, has been OK in his two Round Rock starts.

That could be the deciding factor.

The other option would be a bullpen game, which might be just as effective. Lefty John King took Howard’s roster spot, so the Rangers are operating with a nine-man bullpen.
