He well could be and he's been clutch for Canada at the World Junior Hockey Championships, but those were all-star teams. He put up some pretty good numbers in junior, but as far as team success is concerned, the Regina Pats finished in last place in their division in the WHL last season.

Of course, on other boards I have visited, all the Oilers fans are creaming themselves over Hall, Eberle, and Paajarvi. It's Gretzky, Kurri, and Messier all over again, I'm being told and I'm just a hater.

Man, I just can't wait to get it started for real. Is it October yet?

I think he's the real deal ... we'll just have to see ... he has the resume ... I just hope they continue the Oiler trend of filling out the rest of the roster with smurfs and big guys with little talent

To be fair, Regina's now former GM is a complete asshat. :)

I have a feeling he'll have lots more opportunities to lead "Team Canada" much like a former Oiler. By that I mean the same way Ryan Smyth did so often, not the way Gretzky did.

I personally think his game won't translate well to the NHL. He'll play in the league for a long time, of that I'm confident. I just don't think he'll ever be more than a second liner on a true contender.

Call it a hunch, but I just don't see it.

Hall will be a beast though. I think Paajarvi will be good but not great.

I think the Oil have a franchise forward and two guys who can play in the top 6 for the next 15 years. No way are they Gretz, Kurri and the Moose, but it's a solid start on a rebuild.

Next up is the blueline.
