The Devils don't surprise me. They seem like a sleeping giant... well, at least a slightly hungover giant. The Panthers will be interesting this year with the total revamp.

I hope you guys are right about the Penguins winning the Atlantic. If Crosby can play at some point before the first of the year maybe they can.

With Jordan Staal as your possible #1 center i can't see it happening.

I don't hate him, i just think offensively he is nowhere what people (esp in Pittsburgh) make him out to be. His 29 goal rookie campaign was the anomaly, not the norm.

He can't live off of that forever, sort of like the newest Flyer can't live off Game 7 forever...

I think that the Flyers are more than capable of taking the conference, but I just have not seen this team. 5 is a safe choice at this point, but anywhere from 1-10 is possible IMO

If "second-half" NJ shows up at the beginning of this season, they are going to be dangerous. But if a new coach and a few new faces stir shit up and they return to "first-half" Devils, it'll be nasty for NJ.

I tihnk that 2nd half last year may be a it more than they can do for a season, it was too crazy. They can still be a great team, I just dont see them being as good as the Lightning (Unless Tampa sucks ass this year)

-Will we be able to once again celebrate Miller Time?
-Will Brad Richards help Gabby get his groove back?
-Will Geno get back to his 100+ point self?
-Who actually will fuck Dallas? (it just seemed right)

Staal is usually the 3rd line center but Bylsma is quite intent on Staal centering Malkin. The injuries ruined that plan last year. But w/o sid i think he will try that line combo, 71, 11, and 18 together.

Staal isn't the kind of player to be setting up scoring wingers. He is incredible on his normal line with Cooke and Kennedy.

Personally, i think Staal as the #1 center is a recipe for disaster.
