US ARMY retired /mod.
garcon has been a good wr for us . i have no issue with what he has done here .
He has been average to good. But he is getting paid like an elite WR. With Jackson back hopefully he steps up b/c he is killing my fantasy team.
I have no choice but to start Gracon on my fantast team. He didn't step up with Jackson out. Seriously, I agree with you guys that he is overpaid. Jackson is worth more to our team than Garcon .
I don't think it's fair to discredit DJax for his injuries, it's not like he's got Jordan Reed's history. As for Garcon you guys know my feeling, I think he has been good to very good his entire Redskins career. But as posted he is not elite and is paid elite money.
It is absolutely fair to consider moving on w/o Jackson because of injuries. This is a business. If the team believes that due to his age and injuries he will either not be available as much or perhaps slowing down (which is bad news for a speed guy) then that will have to be part of the decision. This is not about being fair - it is all about business. Now Jackson has a bigger cap hit if released than Garcon so that will also factor into the equation.
Now if Jackson plays lights out for the remainder of the season & stays relatively injury free that is a whole other matter.
Oh I totally get that, it should be factored in. But again DJax is only 28 and does not have a history of injuries. Prior to this year he has only missed a total of 10 games in 7 years. He's got some history but not enough to label him Kelvin Bryant, at least not yet.
garcon has been healthy and has carried this wr corp so far . now i understand he isnt worth his contract and whatt we should try and do is redo a contract or 2 to keep them garcon must understand he isnt going to get big money on the open market
True. I just believe that this current FO is no nonsense & will likely get rid of certain favorites which will probably irk some fans but benefit the team long term. No telling about Jackson since he is kind of at a crossroads & they are certainly closer to the situation than us in terms of making an educated decision. Hopefully - you are rt & he has another 4-5 productive years with the Redskins - nothing quite like a home run threat on a good team.
If everything is equal and you have to keep only 1 (which I don't believe is true), I keep Jackson. His skills and impact are harder to reproduce. But my bet is they are both here next year. Roberts is gone.So as their contacts are similar and knowing what you know which one do you keep? As I said I'm undecided and I'm a pretty big Garcon guy.
Fantasy teams are unimportant to me. I root for the Redskins.
I won't deny he is getting paid a bit much. You can't deny he has been the leading receiver almost if not every year he has been here. Add to that his blocking ability which you can't read in a stat and doesn't help your fantasy team but means a lot to the play on the field and he has been more than average.
coach , we dont have money problems at all , i say redo garcon's contract and problem is solved
