Is it just me or have there been more injuries in recent years?

From my point of view less padding and using leather helmets again might be the best way to go. I believe this would lessen the amount of injuries. With all the pads and sophisticated helmets players tackle by using the shoulder pads and helmet. They don't wrap the ball carrier up with their arms they prefer to stick them with a helmet or shoulder. Using less padding and leather or face mask less helmets players would go back to tackling the way they should and thus less injuries.

I agree. You ever wonder, how many head to head tackles would there be if neither player had a helmet? The head to head contact would be a thing of the past.

The same with all the extra pads and things. All this extra "safety equipment" has just made players more lethal.

The NFL is worried about one type of injury. Players going low might have something to do with it but in the past someone wouldn't have been out of a game with a concussion unless they were next to unconscious.
