That our DC just cant cut it. He goes to a zone D every time teams start moving the ball. What I dont like is we always bring Cam or another S down and shift the backs to cover the flats which leaves all these open areas. Do you all see or am I crazy??

There doesn't seem to be one returning player from last year's defense that seems to be having a better this year than they had last year.

He's a inexperienced coordinator, and maybe like an inexperienced player, he will get better with time. Let's hope we have enough time

You're right on that he is inexperienced. For the first time ever we have the players...He was awesome as CB coach. I say go for a top DC and run with this as far as we can,for as long as we can. JMO!

he has to be part of the problem, but I've always heard it never mattered who the DC was because Pete ran the defense

Seems to be the mantra when things are clicking.

And i believe it. Pete called his shot when he got here in regards to how to build this defense and establishing their style, then want out and put it on the field.

Agreed... Something is wrong... It's reminding me of the Gus Bradley zone bubble day's... Way too many holes in our defense ... 2 years with Quinn and it was night and day how much more disciplined we were... You just rarely saw blown coverages under Quinn ... Since Richards took over we've had 5, 4th quarter losses when we've led... How many TD's have we watched receivers go UNCOVERED for touchdowns late in games this year ? Something is clearly wrong...

I don't think he does, because you could see the difference when Quinn arrived and Bradley left... I mean it was a HUGE difference...

Nothing in the defense has changed. The calls, terminology, personal on the field, zone-man ratio is the same. The players are the ones blowing assignments and I hold Carroll more accountable than any individual.

Nah, Bruce Irvin is having his best year.
