Actually Nebraska stopped recruiting run blockers and started recruiting pass blockers in the Callahan years. There is a difference.

Nick Satan burns bridges and steps on people everywhere he goes, I don't see that with Pelini. Nicky is still hated at MSU. The LSU rivalry is alive and well with his help. If Bo was that sort of coach he would have shit all over us by now, and we would be looking at sanctions for recruiting violations.

Okay not trolling. Just trying to instigate some discussion.

If we look back at Saban's career we might see enough similarities to wonder if Pelini's HC career is taking the same route.

Before jumping on this bandwagon though take a breath. If I am right this is not good news for us.

Saban's first head coaching job was Toledo for one year leading them to a 9-2 record. He then went until 1995 before taking a HC position again. Okay maybe not the same as Bo but Pelini's one game interim head coach does give him HC experience with long stretch before taking a job as head coach again.

Then 1995 Saban takes the HC position at Michigan State going 34-21-1 over 5 years. Not exactly stellar but for taking a program out of the pits of despair not too shabby either. Then in 2000 he took the HC position at LSU almost immediately elevating them to a position of SEC relevance from mediocrity (3 top ten seasons in 30 years) . His achievements there, 2001 wins the SEC over Tenn and 2003 his first National Championship, top 10 2 out of 3 years before trying the pros. Then to Alabama and we all know the story, almost immediately a former powerhouse restored to it's previous status.

So if and if is a BIG word, Pelini is on the same track then we are in year 4 of an okay tenure and we have a coach that will soon be winning titles only not here.

Pelini B1G to SEC? With his evident frustration with the fans, the media and his players inconsistent play this is very possible. He will have the recruits he wants.

I guess the question should be "Is Pelini Dooleys successor in 2 years?"

Isn't this a reflection of the HC? In other words, Why would this change at his next stop?

Recruits and asst. coaches. Why did saban have 60% win +- at Michigan State and coach a championship team at LSU 2 years in? SEC gets the recruits.

Also the parallel was not to Saban specifically. There are many more that do the same or similar career paths. Cut their teeth at one school and move onto another to make their name.

Finally an idiot Nebraska fan. Yall, should kick this turd out.

Nick Saban is a great person, he doesn't shit on anybody. This is his career, and he's gonna take a promotion if it's offered to him like anyone else, people seem to forget that sometimes. Every job he has left has been for a better job, apart from leaving the Dolphins to come to Alabama, which understandable because he wasn't doing too great. People like this guy are followers, they overlook what a coach does behind the scenes like giving millions of dollars to charity or Saban and his wifes own charity Nicks Kids. Try to form your own educated opinion of someone or something without following along with all the butthurt haters.

I think Bo has the potential to be a big time National Championship coach, he just needs to find better assistants that can recruit. That's the one thing Saban has always had, not just good assistants, but assistants that are awesome recruiters. Take this year for instance, we lose our linebackers coach to Tennessee, so what does Saban do? He takes Tennessee's linebacker coach, who happens to be the best recruiter they have. lol.

He really doesn't need to leave Nebraska, because you just don't get no bigger than the Alabama, Nebraska, Oklahoma, USC, and Penn st's of the world.
