Saw John Hollinger just propose a trade for Dame.

Blazers trade: Damian Lillard and Jusef Nurkic
Warriors Trade: Andrew Wiggins, James Wiseman, Jordan Poole, Eric Paschall, 7th, 14th pick, 2022 1st and 2026 1st.

Discuss...

Not a terrible offer.

I don’t love the fit of Steph, Dame and Klay though.

That is a really small 1-3. And it forces Klay to be the primary guard/wing defender again. Not sure that is best for him at this stage.

I doubt the blazers will get more than that.
Most of the other teams dame would want to go to won’t have top 10 or lottery picks to offer

yeah the fit for the warriors is worse than the offer imo.

Lillard and Curry on the same team, with Klay?

I think Philly could do Well using Simmons

I like New Orleans.

they got Lewis walker hayes, plus a top 10 pick this year and gobs of future picks to play with

plus some salary that can be moved to match.

Blazers are nearing the end of their “window”.

They either need to make a big splash and somehow find a second better fitting star to pair with Dame, or they need to move Dame and start over.
with you on the Blazers moving Dame. the question is where to...?

Reading comprehension. Never said Dame should come to the Pacers. Especially now as it would be a very un-Rick Carlisle move to make.

So why mention the Pacers? Being a competent writer reduces issues with reader comprehension.

Eh.

On the verge of Blake Griffin level stardom maybe.

The type of star that puts up numbers but can’t really carry you in the playoffs.

To me that isn’t a real star.

I just don’t see it with Sabonis. He may be the top PF in the East, but PF is a dying position for a reason.

In order for a big man to be a dominant player on a contender, they have to do it on both ends of the court.

Sabonis is a good, solid player. But he and Dame in terms of impact and where they are at aren't even in the same stratosphere. Dame can carry horridly ran franchises (ie Portland). Can Sabonis do that? No.

I heard Miami is a good destination.

Last summer you all would have had a shot.

But Herro’s value has plummeted. Don’t think you can get there without including Bam.

And that defeats the purpose.

Alright, Alright. Jeez.

Kuzma, THT, Schroder and the #22 pick for Dame.

Happy now?

Sorry...just getting the ridiculous trade offer that gets Dame to the Lakers in before TLF or someone did it. :heh:

Yup. Herro's stock taking a hit is an understatement. He would've been a great trade chip right after the Finals.

i said the heat should’ve sold high.

although to be fair there wasn’t much out there besides harden to make a deal for

Yup, that's what was out there in the public. In the end, I think Herro makes a solid role player. Don't see star potential with him.

Depends on expectations. If Dame forces his way out, he can earn himself a longer lease if he can keep whatever blown apart team semi-competitive.

That trade makes no sense for the Warriors.

I feel like Sabonis is on the verge of stardom though. That's probably the disconnect around here for me.

After Julius Randle, I believe Sabonis is the next best PF in the league (Aside from Giannis and KD who are more position-less).

AD?

In today's league AD SHOULD be a 5. But yeah, I forgot about him. Obviously if he plays a 4, he's ahead of those guys (and healthy).

LOL, I'm on here defending your star player to others, when others are questioning him but you want me to move past it.

Plus you're the one that threw the whole Pacers into that first initial post. I agreed with everything else you said. Can't win with you I guess.
It's not that I didn't appreciate the Sabonis love - It's just that I had given you my reasoning for why my thinking was the way it was in the midway portions of page one, yet for some reason it wasn't a good enough answer for you.
Sure.

But for the record, you were the one who brought up the Pacers for absolutely no good reason.
It was just an example on how I would've approached my team in comparison on the approach I'd take with the Blazers. It was not meant to be the central premise of the post. If you have a personal vendetta against the Pacers then that's your problem, not mine.
