I hope Ike got his act together. You don't just suddenly lose the ability to hit 30+ HRs (unless you're juicing which Ike most likely is not). It was completely a mental thing with him, hopefully he's got his head on straight now.

No shocker that Wright and Harvey are heading to the All Star Game. Glad Wright got voted in as the starter, he's the most deserving and it's fitting for the hometown crowd.

Just a bit of odd irony and timing concerning the Mets.

The New York Mets’ team charter landed late Sunday night at San Francisco International Airport, just yards away from the site of Saturday’s Asiana Airlines crash

The twitter pics are not worth sharing really, but do show that yes, they landed on the runway just next to the crash site, and got to see all the debris and whatnot on their way taxing to the terminal.

So Harvey beasted, Wright got a hit and the festivities seemed to run smoothly. I'd say the All Star Game was good for the Mets. Hopefully the Wilpons got some decent cash out of that which will help their financial woes.

Trade deadline is rapidly approaching and so far all is quiet on the Mets trade front. Some rumblings here and there about Byrd but nothing of substance. I would really like to add an outfield bat and the trade route seems like the best option. Maybe we wait until the offseason to make a move?

Is it me or do the Mets have most of their AAA team up now.

The overwhelming majority of our top prospects are pitchers or aren't at the AAA level at the moment. But yes, the Mets major league team is loaded with AAA players.

Damn, Wheeler had a no-no through 6, now given up 2 hits and a walk, on the verge of a no decision.
