In my personal opinion I would have much rather gotten Matt Ryan for the price that the Colts paid for him rather than the price we paid for Carson Wentz. They gave up a 3rd round pick and they are only paying him 24 million dollars and gave up 1 3rd round pick for him. We are paying 28 million and gave up 2 third rounders, one could move up to a 2nd if he plays 70% of the snaps this season. We also swapped 2nd round picks with them in this draft. Matt Ryan is far and away the better QB right now and would have been a much better fit for this squad than Carson Wentz. We traded for Carson Wentz out of desperation with the hopes of him being able to get himself on track. So basically Washington is hoping that Wentz will get to where Matt Ryan is at right now. You can talk about Carsons stats all you want. He only threw 7 picks last year and blah blah blah. There is a reason why Philly took him 2nd overall and gave up on him very quickly and there is a reason why Indy took him a year ago and now Frank Reich is apologizing to the owner and GM of the Colts for vouching for him. If you want to learn more about why the Colts got rid of him you should listen to what Pat McAfee has said about him recently. He calls him "wreckless with the football". I am losing more and more confidence in this front office every day. They have lost a lot of depth on defense and haven't bothered to lift a finger to replace it. They haven't done anything to find a weapon to give Wentz a chance at the skill position. They haven't even bothered to bring back DeAndre Carter yet. The dude played great last season for us. Now we see they could have gotten a better QB for much cheaper. After seeing how bad they blew it in the draft last season I really have to question their ability to judge talent.

NO Wince doesn't have the potential to be a franchise QB!!! Why are you hanging onto something that Wince hasn't been in 4 seasons? Why comparing Ryan and Wentz trades isn't as easy as you think

after reading this, it makes a lot of sense. Now I can understand if folks think they should have been more patient but we all know waiting around for things means a greater chance of losing out on them. However at the same token sometimes you have to make decisions with the information you have.

This is not a PSA in defense of wentz as I am not a huge fan of him but I'm sure if they had any inside inkling that watson would not be indicted maybe they are a bit more patient in the FA/Trade qb market. Hindsight is 20/20.

That article might mean something if it was an Indy sportswriter who wrote it and not someone calling himself Hog Commander. The Hog wrote the article in part apparently based on some secret feelings he had/has. That this secret feeling of his is correct and the multiple reports of Wince not being a leader, not liking hard coaching, and being wreckless with a I gotta be me attitude are all bullshit.

Did anyone ever find out what happened to the suitcase of pills found in Irsays trunk? Also, I've never seen an owner rip a quarterback this hard, losing that 1st and missing the post season musta HURT
