Dan Marino also proved that he could be a good qb in the league, but just like Wentz, Dan Marino’s best work is ancient history.

And if you dont think that Wentz’s best season being three seasons ago is ancient history, I direct you to take a gander at what the fucking Bengals were doing three years ago, and get back to me.

TH is just laughable. he proved last year he is not an NFL starting QB.

Tribusky was a FA, there was no guarantee he would have signed here. If we lost out, then what? Way too much risk to wait for him. Plus, he is not more talented than Wentz.

Draft Pick? It has been said by many that this QB draft class is very underwhelming at best. Frigin Houston is going to pass on a Qb at #3 when they have no one. So, what does that tell you?? You think we can get a franchise QB at #11 when the Team picking at #3 is passing? lol

Your plan stinks. It will not win, and it based on a big IF a FA would sign here or a draft pick works out. Trading for Wentz cuts the risk b/c if he works out, great, if not you have no ties to him next year. The draft picks mean noting if you find a franchise QB.
How do you think the locker room, full of players who have all heard or witnessed the trials and tribulations of Carson Wince are going to react to what you've described as an experimental year with him at QB?

Someone finally gets it. After 20+years, if what you are doing isn’t working, it’s time to try something else. Wentz is more of the same. How hard is that not to see? Shall we list the number of FA qbs have we had in here that have failed? Has that plan ever worked here?
it would not surprise me to hear that trubisky and his agent said no to coming to washington. I believe no FA want to come here unless they get PAID. hurney and mayhew don't strike me as big spenders so as much as it pains me to say it, the red-headed evangelical was probably the best they were going to do. Doesn't mean i like it or wanted it. Skins won't get benefit of doubt unless they start winning games with what they get through the draft and smart 2nd and 3rd tier FA's.

That's funny, but I can't buy one, it's not in Wince's God's plan for him to be here next year! Turns out his God loves to see him on the move every year!:D:D:D:D:D

But here is my question, if he was the best you can do, why do it at all? What does he offer overcwhatcwe already have and how does that position the franchise for future sucesss?

Conversely, does everyone agree that TH is our backup in the next few years? can anyone see value in our backup getting as much playing time as possible?

because TH cannot make all the throws that scott turner wants in his offense. That is abundently clear. So what they are looking for is someone can make quick immediate throws, deep balls, etc. Ron said they needed a QB after the season was over. It should not surprise he went out and got one. If TH could do everything then he would be the guy.

They still have 1,2, 4 rd picks. They are going to have to be saavy with those 7th rd picks as well. Its not like they pulled off the watson trade. They may still take a QB to develop but they are not beholden to overdraft one this year.

Ok. Don’t disagree about THs arm strength. But you really didn’t answer what Wentz offers over TH. How many more wins can we expect next year. And are those extra wins worth losing out on a couple of starting caliber OL that will be with the team for at least 5 years?

good deep ball arm strength, more accurate intermediate throws, is mobile enough to escape the rush and extend a play. I don't know how many more wins wentz quantifies. We haven't even had the draft yet. If the defense isn't fixed looking at the same win total or less.

Well, if it’s the same number of wins, then why do it? Why give up 2 draft picks? Why not use TH if the wins are the same? At the end of the day every move needs to be a piece of a bigger puzzle that results in MORE wins and an eventual sb win.

Wince offers more potential, thus higher ceiling than TH. Likely nets us 2+ wins is all.

Then I’ll ask you. Why do it? What does 2 wins give this franchise? We are giving up 2 draft picks for 2 wins. These picks are legitimate starting players. Cheap players.

Turner actually gets to run his offense more efficientlly = A grown up is now playing QB not a midget with a noodle arm.

To say what I have said all along TH is a great story but limited. $28 mill in today's world is not a lot. A 2nd and a 3rd is not three 1sts and at last two other picks. The FO and HC are tasked with improving the team. Now we get to wait until Sept. to see if they made it work.

Its true that with each passing ridiculous contract given to qbs, $28 million seems less obscene for a relative malcontent like wentz.

I mean, he isnt accused of doing anything but being an asshole teammate, which - compared to say getting accused of acting inappropriately by 22 women in a place where men often act inappropriately - seems relatively tame.

Hopefully the “culture” in washington can help, though its REALLY hard to write that sentence without laughing.

I neither love or hate the trade.

I am willing to wait until the guy is here to see how he works with his teammates. There are also reports he was a good teammate and I believe Reich called RR and said he was okay. Could be wrong on that second part.

they gave up 2 draft picks because that's what it took to get him. TH has limits and scott turner cannot run his offense to its full potential with TH's noodle arm. if RR had assurances he would get 3-4 more years of coaching after this season he probably stands pat and waits for the 2023 to get a QB. I don't believe he thinks he has that luxury and rightfully so.
