How Joe Gibbs, film study and analytics led the Commanders to Carson Wentz
Ron Rivera and the Commanders let the NFL know they wanted a starting QB, then mapped out a strategy that led to Wentz. Here is how it went down.
On the one hand, asking the only hall of fame coach that won three super bowls with three different quarterbacks is a smart move.
On the other hand, Coach Gibbs hasnt coached in the league in ten years, and the nfl game is different than it was when he last coached.
Also, the advice shared by coach gibbs in this article seems awfully obvious to me: tall qbs can see over the line and small qbs need to be mobile.
I dont think anybody thinks that the Commanders didnt proceed methodically through their quarterback search.
I just question the conclusions they came to.
