On the one hand, asking the only hall of fame coach that won three super bowls with three different quarterbacks is a smart move.

On the other hand, Coach Gibbs hasnt coached in the league in ten years, and the nfl game is different than it was when he last coached.

Also, the advice shared by coach gibbs in this article seems awfully obvious to me: tall qbs can see over the line and small qbs need to be mobile.

I dont think anybody thinks that the Commanders didnt proceed methodically through their quarterback search.

I just question the conclusions they came to.

I think the Skins did what they could under the circumstances. They weren't going to get the big guys. $28 mill in todays market is not a boat load. Will he be good, all we can do is wait and see. Despite some of the comments here and elsewhere I don't think it was a panic move. Something had to happen. I am not in love with any of the "supposed 1st round QBs" this year.

Exactly. When I went to college, I wanted to be a doctor, didn’t happen. But like I told my dad, who is a doctor, just because I didn’t come to the right understanding of science, didn’t mean I didn’t try. I got to the wrong conclusions.

If wft coach can get him to stick to script and not improvise he might become the Wentz that started his career in philly....
They have to treat him like Jimmy G. Limit his throwing opportunities to well designed easy wide-open throws and run the hell out of the ball.

The old working-class lament huh? "

If I had only found that winning lottery ticket lying in the street, I would be a changed person!" :D:pound:

TH, Trubisky, draft pick at #11. Best man wins.

Keep drafting a qb early every year until you find one that wins.

Not hard, really.

TH is just laughable. he proved last year he is not an NFL starting QB.

Tribusky was a FA, there was no guarantee he would have signed here. If we lost out, then what? Way too much risk to wait for him. Plus, he is not more talented than Wentz.

Draft Pick? It has been said by many that this QB draft class is very underwhelming at best. Frigin Houston is going to pass on a Qb at #3 when they have no one. So, what does that tell you?? You think we can get a franchise QB at #11 when the Team picking at #3 is passing? lol

Your plan stinks. It will not win, and it based on a big IF a FA would sign here or a draft pick works out. Trading for Wentz cuts the risk b/c if he works out, great, if not you have no ties to him next year. The draft picks mean noting if you find a franchise QB.

No Homer, my plan is what good teams do: build up the team then find your qb.

With my plan, we’d have all of our assests, including flowers and Ionnidis probably, a great back up qb, a bridge qb or possibly better in trubisky, and a potential long term replacement in the draft.

As it looks right now, the only qb who moght be drafted before the commanders pick is willis.

That means pickett who is “the most pro ready” might be available. Or ridder, who apparently wowed at the combine.

This plan sinks most of our cap into a twice released headcase who think’s the reason he got released from his mentor’s team is because of god’s plan.

Give me a break. Flowers and Ionman? lol. To get a franchise QB I have no problem at all with both of those guys being released. Plus we got a better OG in Norwell. Of course you dont give the FO credit for that one. You plan is full of if's. If a rookie qb works out. if tribusky which you have no solid proof he would of signed here works out. Th is just down right laughable. Now we get to use our 11 pick on a impact player non-QB.

Someone finally gets it. After 20+years, if what you are doing isn’t working, it’s time to try something else. Wentz is more of the same. How hard is that not to see? Shall we list the number of FA qbs have we had in here that have failed? Has that plan ever worked here?

Trubisky has a career winning record , has been to a PB and made the playoffs twice
He cost a1/4 of the money wince is making . Ionman has made a PB and flowers could be let go for Norwell for better cost . Allen and Payne played about 70% of the DT snaps and wise and bada are currently your “ depth “

Doesnt mean Trib would of signed here. Ionman was not good last year. To cut Ionman and Flowers to get Wentz. Yes i do that in a heartbeat b/c its a qb.

Pro Football Focus thinks otherwise regarding Norwell versus Flowers and Sherff. Norwell is cheaper, and rated lower than both guards.

The Commanders got worse at guard.

You didnt ask for proof, Homer, you asked to hear my qb plan, and my qb plan is twice as good as your blind homerism.

I could just as easily say that you have no solid proof that Wentz will succeed here. Conversly, I can point to the past two years of Wentz doing enough to get himself shipped off to his next team with extreme prejudice.

Also, I was right: you cant come up with five things you think RR did wrong.

That in and of itself is fucking laughable. Ron Rivera himself could most definitely come up with five mistakes Ron Rivera made this past year.

I get it you are against Wentz. You are a hater. Your QB plan doesn't work and wont win. Not Homerism. Wentz proved he can be a good Qb in this league. How can you deny that? Everyone makes mistakes, I like what RR has done so far. doesn't deserved to be fired.
